Scott Coyer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 20, 2025.
Oklahoma City - Scott Coyer was born on September 27, 1954 in Oklahoma City. He passed away January 7, 2025. Scott was born to R. Don and Sue Coyer and grew up in northwest OKC with his three younger brothers. He graduated from Putnam City West High School in 1972 and attended Oklahoma University (according to Scott, the grandest institution in the country) studying business. He loved his family, all things Sooner, most Democrats, and a few Republicans. Scott's working life began in high school at the old Hagee's Grocery at NW 39th and Portland. He started with Davis Foods after college and worked there a number of years after re-locating to Lewisville, TX in 1986. Scott was also a friend of Bill W., embracing his sobriety January 9, 1984. He spent decades mentoring, sponsoring, and inspiring other friends. He was full of laughter, a little bombastic, and never didn't have a joke. He is survived by his son David, his mother Sue, three brothers Brad (Kelly), Kirk, and Bryan (Jean), as well as many nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by many. Our hearts are broken and a little piece gone, not to return. Many have different relationships with, and recollections about Scott, but all would agree that he was quite a character. Services to be held at St. Luke's Methodist Church, 222 NW 15th in OKC at 11:00 am, Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025
