Scott Crouch Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 14, 2025.
Scott Tyler Crouch, age 62, of Mason, Ohio passed away peacefully at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton on Sunday morning, June 29, 2025, following a courageous five-and-a-half-year battle with Transverse Myelitis. Scott was born in Dayton, Ohio on September 14, 1962, to parents Bethel Glenn Crouch and Virginia Alice (Coe) Crouch of Cookeville, TN. Scott graduated from Worthington High School in 1981. He was a talented trumpet player, and while attending THE Ohio State University, was a proud member of The Best Damn Band in The Land. Throughout his working years Scott did construction, renovation, and was especially talented at tile work. He also worked as a personal trainer. He was a very active man and enjoyed hiking, camping, fishing, bicycling, hunting, and motorcycling. The pride of his life were his three children: Joseph Crouch, Katie Crouch, and Kristie Crouch. Scott loved his dogs, which were generally rescued pit bull terriers. While at first glance, Scott could be an imposing physical presence, he was in reality a very kind and gentle man who never met a stranger. He was a rabid Ohio State Football fan and no fan of TTUN! He was a member of the Southern Ohio Coon Hunters Association located in Owensville, Ohio. Scott was preceded in death by his parents Bethel Crouch and Virginia Alice (Coe) Crouch. Scott is survived by his three children, Joseph Crouch of Salem, OR; Katie Crouch of Kettering, OH; and Kristie Crouch of Middletown, OH; his siblings Sherry Weaver of Goshen, IN; Becky Moore of Cookeville, TN; and Melissa Hildebrand of Huntersville, NC. A memorial service and celebration of Scott's life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at New Life Vineyard Church, located at 1701 Princeton Rd, Hamilton, OH 45011. New Life Vineyard's senior pastor Nathaniel Sorensen officiating. In honor of Scott, who was not big on formal attire, we would encourage all in attendance to wear Ohio State Buckeye gear or the loudest Hawaiian shirt you can find.

We didn't know Scotty for very long, but knew him as a man of faith and conviction. We are saddened at his passing and comforted only in that he is now whole in the Lord. Godspeed Scotty!
