Scott Grim Obituary
AGE: 41 • Pittsgrove
Scott Alexander Grim, 41, son of Barbara and Bill Grim of Pittsgrove, NJ lost his valiant 11 month battle with melanoma on Valentine's Day at the home of his parents.
Scott was born in Des Moines, Iowa at Iowa Methodist Hospital on April 14, 1975. The Grim family thanks his birth mother from the bottom of our hearts for allowing us the honor of raising such a wonderful human being, a loving and loyal son. Whoever you are, wherever you are, may God bless you.
Scott was raised in Knoxville, Iowa and Newington, Connecticut where he currently resided. He is survived by his parents and his brothers-by-choice Scott Zinkerman of East Hampton, CT, Dennis Volpe of Plainville, CT, John Dowd of Stuart, FL and Chris Rossi of New Britain, CT. Scott leaves behind to cherish his memory his parents, many friends, aunts and uncles and his darling godson, Worthington London Zinkerman.
Scott was predeceased by his grandparents Alexander and Laura Drezgal of Vineland and Millville, William and Josephine Grim of Hazlet, NJ and his beloved animals Jamie and Rex his raccoons, his Scottish Terriers Duffy, Angus and Jock, his Bassett Hound Aggie, his cats Priscilla, Puffy, Kitty, Moo and Romeo. His animals were his world. Memorial donations may be made to the Cumberland County S.P.C.A., 1244 N. Delsea Dr., Vineland, NJ 08360.
A service is being planned where friends and family will gather on a lovely day in the spring at his favorite spot on the banks of Colebrook Lake in Connecticut. Scott will be in our hearts forever. He left us with wonderful memories and his wonderful smile, and joy., that was his gift to us., that we shall treasure. Our entire family misses him so. Dear Mr. and Mrs. Grim:
Please accept my heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your son, Scott. I know this is devastating for your family and Scott's circle of friends.
I have such fond memories of Scott as a darling sweet boy with curly red hair in my second grade class in Newington, CT many years ago. After reading his obituary this morning I searched through my album of school memorabilia and found his class photoit was 1983-84 at the Ruth L. Chaffee School. I remember you as well...a devoted and supportive mom. How lucky Scott was to have been placed with such caring parents.
The loss of a child is never easy and I am sure you will miss Scott more than anyone can imagine. May the comfort of family and friends sustain you in the weeks to come and may fond memories help you hold him near.
