Scott Kemper Obituary
Born May 23, 1956 in Buffalo, New York, the middle child of Bill (Clarence) and Hazel Kemper. The family moved to Minnesota when Scott was five. He graduated from White Bear Mariner and earned a Business degree from Augsburg College in Minneapolis. Scott worked for Northwestern National Bank (now Wells Fargo) in Osseo, MN where he met Carmen Gray. After an extended courtship they were married September 9, 1989.
Scott worked as a lender, enjoying the combination of credit analysis and relationship management. His goal was to thoroughly understand the businesses he supported.
Through the years Scott and Carmen traveled extensively and worked together maintaining their homes, gardens and golf games. They retired in 2015 and moved to Prescott, AZ where the mountains called.
During retirement Scott enjoyed time with friends on the golf course. His greatest joy was turning his lifetime love of photography into a small business. He had a keen eye for composition, spending hours waiting for the light to be just right to create an image. His photography will be a lasting testament and legacy to his creative talent.
Scott passed in Scottsdale, AZ with his wife by his side. He is survived by sisters Cynthia Kemper of Denver, CO and Corinne (James) Malecha of Hugo, MN.
In following Scott's wishes a private celebration will be held in Minnesota. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials in Scott's name be made to Prescott Animal Park Association (AKA Heritage Park Zoo) Prescott, AZ

Dearest Cyn and Corrine-
I´m so deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Scott. He was such a special person and I will always remember family gatherings at redeemer and at our house. I loved running into him and your dad in the skyway. Those moments of catching up were always so warm and full of life, just like him. He had an incredible gift of seeing the world through his camera lens and we had traveled to many of the same places. His photos and how he captured the beauty around him, were a reflection of his soul.
Please know my thoughts are with you during this difficult time. Scott will be missed more than words can express.

I know of no other person who lived their life as intentionally as Scott did. He had purpose and direction early in life, and began planning quietly to fulfill his passion for travel, wide open spaces and capturing the beauty around us early on. That fierce dedication, fortified by an enviable, overflowing bucket list, culminated in a love of photography, which he ultimately mastered, spurred on by his innate artistic talent, persistence, and sheer determination.
Thankfully, he married a wonderful partner who traveled the world with him and supported his dreams. Together they lived a rich, full and independent life.
Scott was a healthy, happy, vital, fit, self-directed man when this horrible disease began to impact him at 67. He fought it with great courage until the very end, though he had much more life to live. I will miss him terribly. He was a good man, and a wonderful brother who inspired us all with his gentle sense of humor, extraordinary "can-do spirit," stunning images, and writings of his adventures around the world (22 countries at last count, I believe). He left us too soon. He leaves a huge hole in our hearts and lives, and will be greatly missed by those of us whose lives he touched over his 69 years.
In Scott's words, he pursued his passion of photography "to evoke hope, wonder, and nourishment for the soul. ...Whether the soaring peaks of Nepal or the intimate streets of Paris, my goal (was) always the same: to inspire tranquility, reveal beauty, and spark creativity through every image."
Rest in peace, Scott. You will be remembered in every gorgeous sunrise and sunset, every stunning vista and soaring mountain peak, every time we visit one of your beloved national parks, and whenever we see or taste a juicy red strawberry, which you enjoyed until the very end!
