We are so sorry for the Mayer family with the loss of Scott. We never knew Scott but live on Crow Valley across the street from the home he was living in while attending Churchill. Unfortunately, we moved there shortly before his mom, Sandy, passed away. We then became acquainted with Jack and Jean. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this sad time.

Scott helped our son achieve his goal of playing Division I baseball. Ben played for the Sliders for 3 years and and we truly enjoyed interacting with Scott at tournaments. His loss is keenly felt by us and so many others in San Antonio. May God comfort your family with His peace that passes understanding.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Mayer family. Scott was a tremendous man who set his personal gains aside to help others. He did so much for so many. There are many young men that owe their baseball careers to Scott and he left lifelong impressions on them all. His smile will always be remembered. We love you and will miss you dearly Scott Mayer.

To the Mayer Family, you don't know us at all. We are just regular San Antonians who want to express our supreme sorrow at the loss of Scott. I had an elderly uncle walk away from a nursing home & was found weeks later. We are sure God had an job for Scott so he took him home ! We pray that graces & blessings be showered on all of you to help with your pain.

We are sending prayers to all the Mayer family. We knew Scott when our son, Jordan, played baseball through Hack Shack, and Scott was his coach. Missy and Scott were blessed with Macey during this time. It was many years ago, but Scott had such a lasting impression on us. A wonderful and honorable man. We will never forget him.

We are truly honored that our son had the opportunity to play baseball with the South Texas Sliders (2007-2010). Scott had so much dedication to his organization and his players. He made the world a better place. May his legacy and passion for baseball continue on through his family, friends and the players that he coached. Our thoughts and prayers to the Mayer Family.

Although I did not know Scott that long, I really grew to admire him, and his passion for baseball. Every time he would contact me, and ask to use our field, we would always get it ready for the Sliders to come play or practice. He had a great presence about him , and we will deeply miss his team, their families, and especially him coming to our small town.
God Bless this family!

Sending prayers and well wishes to Mr. Mayer, Jeff, Jason, Missy and Missy's girls... Scott and I were extremely close friend's at Churchill. I considered him one of my best friend's. We umpired T-Ball, Machine Pitch Baseball and Girl's Softball together at McCallister Park in the late 80's. I don't think there wasn't a weekend we weren't together cruising in his Ford Bronco II listening to INXS, Boston, Restless Heart, King George and many other musical greats. Although we did lose touch, after high school, our friendship was re-kindled many times when my son played select baseball tournaments hosted by Scott and his baseball organization. Even though he was all over the place prepping fields and driving that golf cart 100 mph he still made time to come over and catch up with me and my family. I am just in a state of shock by all of this and my heart hurts for the family. So many great times with great memories. Scott shared a locker close to my locker my senior year. I remember he had a bottle of Giorgio cologne (he loved that stuff) and one day, in between classes when the hall's were filled to the gill, it slipped out of Scott's hand and broke in a gazillion pieces. That hallway at Churchill probably still reeks of Giorgio cologne today. I also remember Scott was a huge Bruce Willis fan and Scott would emulate Bruce's singing in a commercial put out by Seagram's Golden Wine Cooler's. It got to the point all of us on the basketball team would be the back up singers for Scott who, of course, was center stage singing the Bruce Willis part. We had so much fun together and a lot of deep discussions on the back of the bus coming back from late basketball game's. So many great memories and so many great times together...I could go on and on. Scott you will dearly be missed my friend. The photo I have attached was taken just before we headed out for WC's 'Home Coming, 1987'.
