Scott MCBEAN Obituary

Published by Saskatoon StarPhoenix on Mar. 22, 2016.
Scott McBean
1986 - 2016
On March 18, 2016 the world became a little less bright with the passing of Scott William McKinley McBean. Scott brought joy, laughter, love and happiness everywhere he went and to all those he met. Scotty didn't just have interests, he had passions. He lived every day with so much energy and enthusiasm that you couldn't help but feel the same when you were around him. The topics of Christmas, Disney, Mary Poppins, and Harry Potter are a few of the examples of these passions. Scotty was an amazing teacher. He loved all of the children he taught and those that he worked with. Scott would get so excited about the lessons he was planning and would share stories of his most recent class in Warman. Those left to carry on his legacy are his father William (Bill) McBean, mother Cheryl McBean, sister Shauna Butts, her husband Sean Butts, and two nieces Kaitlyn and Elizabeth. Extended loving family include Susan Nazarenko (aunt), Janie Smith (cousin), Diane Lefevre (aunt), Danielle Kirkness (cousin), Adam Lefevre (cousin), Robby Sterett (cousin), Matt Sterett (cousin), Mary Sterett (cousin), Billy Sterett (cousin), Mark Hulings (cousin), Margaret Low (cousin), Janet Hulings (cousin), Mark Hulings Jr. (cousin) Mark Hulings Sr. (uncle). Members of his Circle of Super Trust are Shandra, Chelsea, Karl, Leah, Kris, Maeva, Chester, Riley, Fraser, Brittany, Peter, Patrick, Alan and Kristy. Predeceased by William and Nona (Richardson) McBean, Doug and Jean Dawson, Margaret (Richardson) Hulings, Lynnda Lousie McBean and Kirby McBean (his beloved dog). The Celebration of Scott's life will take place Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the Delta Bessbourgh beginning at 3:00 p.m. followed by a social gathering also at the Delta Bessbourgh. In following with Scott's love of themes, please wear either your best Harry Potter attire or dress in the Scott fashion of shorts and a hat. We will be singing, dancing and sharing in the joy that embodied everything Scott was, and always will be. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Saskatoon Boys and Girls Club or The Canadian National Institute for the Blind. Condolences may be left at www.saskatoonfuneralhome.com Arrangements have been entrusted to Saskatoon Funeral Home.

I light a candle today in remembrance of young Scott. Reading the testimonials from folks sharing their memories is so very heartwarming and must bring you and your family so much comfort Cheryl. What he shared with his friends, family and young students is a wonderful tribute to him.
With much love, Aunt Gail, cousins Patrick and Ron and Ron's family, Helen, Jack and Katie.

My kids both had Scott as a teacher and I worked with him. We spent this morning telling each other our favourite 'McBean' stories. He was such a great presence in our lives. We will miss him.

To Scott's Family and many friends,
It brings me great sadness to hear of Scott's passing - he was a 'lover of life' and lived it with a passion! As a young boy at Lakeview School, he brought laughter to many of our days and classroom activities...especially our assembly production! Having known him then, it was great to find out that he had taken the path of becoming a teacher. I know that his students would have loved the smiling and joyous being that he was! The world will miss his smile! My love goes, especially, to Cheryl and Bill!

To my friend Cheryl, my heart is breaking for you. Throughout the years working together and after we talked so proudly about our children and their successes. Scott will be missed deeply by all whose lives he touched. Though this is a very difficult time in your world you will have many, many wonderful memories to brighten your day and put a smile on your face. Sending hugs your way.

With sincere sympathy to the McBean and Dawson families.

Dear Cheryl and family, I am so sorry for the loss of Scott. I have many great memories of times spent with him, dancing in Cheryl's basement, laughing until we cried, and getting into trouble at Lakeview School. Scott was indeed a bright light and left a lasting impression on me and my family. Sending love to all who knew him.

I am sorry to hear of Scott's passing. I remember him as a student in grade 11 English class. He was kind to all around him, thoughtful in everything he did, and excited about learning each day. I only had him for that one semester, but remember him fondly.
