Scott R. McCoy Sr. 68, of West Haven, beloved husband of Gigi Armstrong, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 4, 2025.

Born on September 4, 1956, to the late Susan H McCoy. Scott was born and raised in Milford, Connecticut, and later made his home in West Haven. Throughout his life, Scott pursued a variety of careers that reflected his many talents, including industrial painting, ironwork, auto body work, and automotive repair.

Scott had a passion for the outdoors and could often be found fishing, relaxing by the beach, or hunting for "treasures" during his frequent junking adventures-always finding a way to restore and repurpose with his skilled hands. He took great pride in his vegetable gardens, sharing his harvest with family and friends.

A generous soul, Scott often volunteered his time and talents, especially his grilling and cooking skills, in support of community events and veteran causes. He was known for his big heart and his constant willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need.

Scott's incredible smile and sense of humor brought joy to everyone he met, but especially to his family and close friends. His warmth, laughter, and kindness will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

In addition to his wife, he leaves behind his son Scott R. McCoy Jr. and his wife Lauren; his siblings; Kim McCoy, Pamela McCoy and her husband Joseph Staurovsky, Jeffrey McCoy and his wife Kimberlee. As well as additional family and friends.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Connecticut Hospice for their caring and compassion during his final days.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Connecticut Hospice online at www.hospice.com/donate or Tunnel to Towers online at www.t2t.org , two organizations close to the family's heart.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday July 12, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford CT 06460. A Prayer Service is to begin at 1 p.m.
