I am very sorry for the loss of your wonderful son and brother. Eternal rest grant unto Scott, O Lord and let Perpetual Light shine upon him. I will keep you all in my prayers. Thank you so much for your final comments. The world, indeed, is becoming a cruel place in regards to the gift of life, at all stages. May Our Lord bless you all and help you to get through this difficult time.

Scott was a gift from God, I did not know him but my heart goes out to his family and friends. You are right a world without Down syndrome would not be a world worth living in.

We are heartbroken to learn of the passing of your son and brother. While we never had the pleasure of meeting Scott, we can understand the love and joy he brought to your lives. Scott's legacy of unconditional love and acceptance is an important reminder to us all.

Dear Charles, Glen and family,

Although I did not know your son, I was very moved and impressed by your words in his obituary regarding the changing societal view of people with Down's Syndrome. I have a cousin with DS and he has brought more joy into the lives of our extended family than anyone else. I have preached about the dangers of 'viewing' others as 'others.' We are all human beings with our strengths and weaknesses, and we all reflect the greatness of God in some way. I will offer Holy Mass for Scott but also for your family, that God give you a spirit of gratitude for Scott's life. Keep up your courage.
