Sean FRANEY Obituary
Sean Franey in his 64th year passed away comfortably July 6, 2017 in the care of the Central West Hospice. Sean was born September 27, 1953 in the best hospital in Ottawa (at the time), The Salvation Army Grace Hospital. Sean is the 4th child, first son and 1 of 8 children to Vincent and Patricia Franey. Survived by his spouse of 36 years, Gaylee Bellinger and his son Ryan Franey (Danielle O'Leary). Sean was the greatest Poppa to his Granddaughter Summer Denault-Franey. Survived by a large loving immediate and extended family, survivors include his sisters and brothers; Colleen Nottell (John), Shannon Underwood (Tim) , Mavourneen Patafie (Peter), Emerald Miller (Michael), Erin Franey (Mary), Shamrock Franey and Tyrone Franey. His in-laws and extended family; Ross Hutton, Shauna Weston (Bill), Cynthia Minkhorse (Terry), Luella Martin, Elizabeth Sanford (Barry), Norman Robins, Ernest Robins, Tommy Bellinger, Dale Barkley (Marilyn) and Jackie Barkley. Sean was a cherished Uncle spoiling many Nieces, Nephews, Great-Nieces and Great Nephews. Sean was predeceased by his parents Vincent (WPV) and Patricia Franey, Irene Hutton, Clarence Barkley, Jackson Patafie. Special Friend to The Villeneuve Family, Nicole Stanley, Trevor Wallace, Dan Murphy and Michel Labonte. Thank you to the Central West Hospice staff and volunteers, CCAC – Michelle Sabourin and the home care team from Bayshore Home Health, Therese Pierrier and Mark Garneau. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to Ottawa Hospice Care, 1400 Carling Ave, Ottawa, ON K1Z 7L8 or Esophageal Cancer Research – Canadian Cancer Society. Friends are invited to gather and Celebrate Sean's Life from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, July 15 at the Greely Legion, 8021 Mitch Owens Rd. Greely Ontario.

Gaylee, we have just returned from our holidays and were saddened to hear

Saturday July 15 with beautiful sunshine and an amazing turnout of friends to celebrate with his family Sean would have been pleased with the celebration of his life. It was a wonderful tribute to a man who touched so many. May that day provide some comfort for your loss.

My memories of Sean are as the Big Bear of an older brother to Tyrone and Erin back when the Franey's lived on the corner of Morin Street and St Laurent Blvd in Ottawa. That was a carefree special time. To the whole Franey family, I'm so sorry for your loss.
