Sean O'Neil Obituary
AGE: 54 • Media, PA
Sean P O'Neil, 54, of Media Pennsylvania, passed away too soon on 10 August 2014.
He was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey on November 12th 1959 to Mike and Pat O'Neil (Moriarity). Sean graduated from A. I. Dupont High School, after which he attended The University of Delaware where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Engineering and Masters Degree in Business. He was married to Karyn Thompson on October 20th 1984.
Sean and Karyn met in college at The University of Delaware and were married shortly after graduation. During and following the marriage Sean was employed by Dupont Corporation and spent the next twenty years with the Company in a variety of roles where he was exposed to diverse groups of people and cultures via his travels around the globe. He was blessed with wonderful parents who instilled in him an unmatched quality of character and genuine respect for people. His experiences during this period in his life built upon the foundation laid in his upbringing giving him the ability to make everyone around him feel welcome, listened to and cared for.
Sean is survived by his amazing and caring wife and children; Karyn, Meghan and Colin O'Neil. He is also survived by his parents Mike and Pat O'Neil and siblings Kevin, Mary Patricia, Brian, Mary Elizabeth, and Mary Jean and their extended families.
Sean was always one to make his own way and chose to embark on a new journey later in life by running his own soup business, under the name of Book Binders Specialties, a well known brand in the Philadelphia region with national distribution. With a focus on spending more time with his family, and growing his business, Sean raised two amazing children who emulate and carry on his legacy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 13 at 10 am at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Church, 10 Old Church Rd., Greenville. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the St. Francis Inn, 2441 Kensington Ave., Philadelphia, PA, 19125.

I will always remember Sean as a kind, caring man. Little did I know when I asked for a donation for a breast cancer event from Bookbinder's where Sean worked, he had worked at Du Pont where I worked and also went to U of D where I graduated. As fate would have it, he is buried 5 ft. away from my dear mother who I lost to breast cancer in St. Joseph's on the Brandywine where I used to go to church. Sean was a kind, beautiful soul....God Bless his family.

I received an email reminder of Sean's passing today. I wanted to express to his family how very grateful I am for Sean's kind heart and help with donations from Bookbinder's. I had the privilege of knowing Sean through a business relationship with DuPont. Sean was extremely bright and of the highest caliber of integrity and his sense of humor brought smiles to me and everyone in his presence. He left this earth much too early.

Karyn and family,
Sean was a BRIGHT SPOT for me during my 32 years at DuPont. He was caring, considerate and fun! Always a true gentleman and a friend. Even funny when he introduced me to a live zoo(surprise to me for dinner in China).

At DuPont and DuPont-Merck I shared the same laboratory with Karyn. Peter and I knew Sean through many social events at their house and related work events, as well as through many stories at work from Karyn. Sean was a class, unflappable person in every way, and a devoted husband and father. The family could not have been closer. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family to help cope with this tragic loss. A special embrace for Karyn.
