I'm Deeply saddened by the loss of this great man I called uncle and Godfather.
Siobhan, Fabian, and Jimmy, I trust that during this grieving process, you can somehow hold on to his legacy. He was an inspiration to me. I always admired his confidence and energy. I learned much from him and plan on relying on his spirit to live in my heart and all those he touched.

My sympathy to the Hoffners and the rest of Buckshot's family. He was and always will be dear to your hearts. You are blessed to have had such a close relationship with your grandfather. He may be gone, but you'll never forget him or quit missing him.

I got to know Buckshot back in the 70s and always held him in high regard, tho we were of different political persuasion it never mattered when it came to being friends...in later years always looked forward to seeing when in Bismarck....he was a 'GentleMan'!

Thoughts and prayers to the Hoffner family. Buckshot was a customer of mine when I had a barber/beauty shop in Minnewaukan, had many good visits and what a great man he was. He will long be remembered. God Bless

What a joy for my family and I to have been friends with Buckshot! He had a love for life that made a person feel good to be around him. He had that gift of making everyone he met feel special and he will be greatly missed by everyone's lives he may have touched. Rest in peace, my dear friend.

My sympathies on the loss of Buckshot. I worked at State Headquarters from 1977-1978 as the receptionist. My usual way of answering the phone was "Democratic State Headquarters." Until one day Buckshot was on the other end of the call and he proceeded to chew me out that we should never forget the Non-Partison League and I should say "Democratic-NPL State Headquarters". And so it was. Buckshot will be missed.

After reading all about Buckshot we are sorry that we never got to meet this amazing man. Our thoughts and prayers go out to our Brother James Hoffner who is as amazing as his father and also to the rest of the family. Much love and respect to all.

Sebastian "Buckshot" Hoffner will be remembered not only as a politician in North Dakota but as a friend to many all over. You have left a legacy to all your Germans from Russia ancestry and to your home town of Esmond. May you rest in eternal peace forever.
