To the Chase Family: You won"t remember me, but I worked for Mr. Chase in 1971-72. I was a good friend of Mike Thomas'. I so enjoyed your business and farming operations. It inspired me to always keep my hand in farming and the agrarian mindset. My kind of man. I am certain he will be greatly missed. Sorry for the lateness of this message; I just now happened upon his obituary.

Dear Marilyn and Bill and family,

Ken and I have wonderful memories of our visit to your beautiful farm three years ago in July. We loved hearing the Chase family stories that Selden shared with us that day, and we appreciated his insights, thoughtfulness and humor. We also enjoyed hearing how you two met, and seeing how much Selden still loved horses and the farm (a love we share). We are thinking of you now and share in your loss, for as we all know, Selden was a remarkable man. Love, Ken and Joan Chase (Gladstone, VA)

Sorry to hear of Selden's passing. We spent a lot of time together in the greenhouses and was included in enough family functions to make me feel like one of you. Those were great times.

I was so very sorry to hear of Seldens passing. In our community he was a "rock" who had forgotten more than most people knew. His advice for me was always well grounded, well thought out. I will miss his advice and guidance. There aren't many left like Selden.

Seldon was a wonderful human being and a valued mentor while I was at Cooperative Extension. My deepest sympathy to his family and his beloved wife.

Jeannie, Duane, and the entire Chase family members

Although we did not know your dad personally, Jeannie, we know he must have had compassion for others, as that wonderful "gift" was passed on to you. We thank you for the years of sending flowers and visiting my mom, Martha Curry, and my aunt, Vera Schwan. You touched their lives and I know they are welcoming your dad in Heaven--bet there are flowers everywhere!!
Our hearts go out to all of you~~~~

Such a humble and hard working man. A good friend to many in my family. I will always remember coming to visit the sheep and the greenhouses with my dad.
Prayers and blessings to his loving family.
