SERENA POWERS Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 13, 2015.
POWERS
SERENA ANNALISA
July 19, 1985-December 8, 2015. Abruptly and too soon, Serena Powers, formerly of Washington state, released from her earthly bonds and returned to the great source of all LOVE on December 8, 2015. Serena was a loving, creative, lively and engaging beautiful young lady with an artist's heart and a quick wit who was always ready with a clever reply or a sympathetic word. Friends and family were true treasures to her and she made and kept friends all around the world who will remember her delightful laugh and large sparkling eyes. Serena adored animals and they were a big part of her life. Cats, Dogs, Sheep, Rats…she loved them all and was known to bring home any lost or forlorn wandering creature in need of love and care. She loved music and was rarely without her headphones or a tune playing along as she went about the chores of life. Serena had a hungry mind, loved reading, movies and was a lifelong student of life, learning many skills throughout the years, including cooking, sewing, computers, and arts and crafts of all sorts. Those who felt privileged to love and be a part of her life are mourning their too brief time along side her and wish her eternal love and peace. Preceded in death by her beloved Mother, Amy Alexandra Duff Thamm; she is survived by her Father, Frank Powers III of Washington state; Maternal grandmother, Margaret Duff; cousins Christopher and Stacey Duff, Joy (Miguel) Cortes of Pittsburgh; Maternal grandfather, John Thamm; and Aunt Heather Thamm of Washington state; Sisters, Gypsy Dylan and Chrystal Gillmere; Paternal grandmother, Shirley (Steve) Powers-Fitzpatrick; Paternal Aunt, Kim Powers Brown; Uncle Ron Powers and Aunt Sandra Powers (Dick) Knorr; cousins, Zoey and Jed Knorr of Washington state, cousin Sarah Tunnell of Oregon; and her much adored and loved boyfriend, Timothy "TJ" Fleischmann of Pittsburgh. Memorial for friends and family are being planned for the near future in both Pittsburgh and Washington State.
