Seymour,
Cafe Baci, Ruth' s Chris, Philippi Creek Oyster Bar, and numerous other places that you had to take me to because the food was good and the service was exceptional. You were right and I enjoyed visiting every one of them because it made you happy. I will always remember your raspy voice as you mispronounced my name and called me Racial. It's okay, I liked the uniqueness.
Then, when Izabella was born, you loved her unconditionally. She is your daughter in every aspect, and I will always remember how you wanted to give her the world. You were her world, and she loved her Papa. She always told me that her Papa was handsome, and that she loved him "this much." Seymour, she will always be your Scooch, and I know you will be watching over her from heaven. You were the best daddy a little girl could have. The two of you were inseparable and in many ways alike. She will miss running into your room and giving you kisses. In her own words she said, You are the best Papa ever, and I love you so much. You are my best friend.
I remember how you saved all those awesome wooden cigar boxes so I could have enough of them for my classes--my students made the best Mother's Day gifts with those boxes. I have many wonderful memories of sitting together on the deck while you chewed away on your cigars. I will always cherish the heartfelt note you left me, and telling me how proud you were of me. Coming from you, it was memorable. Seymour, you are/were a wonderful son-in-law who I always enjoyed teasing by reminding you that I am "your favorite" mother-in-law.
Seymour, it's more about your kindness that many didn't get have the privilege to see that won me over. You accepted everyone for who they were without judging or without pointing a finger. You always said that nobody was perfect, and that if people worried about themselves as much as they worry about otherstheir lives would be much happier. You were a sage man who had a myriad of life experiences. You were always so patient with your in-laws. They loved, admired, and respected you. You were a good family man who loved his family and took care of his wife and youngest daughter. I was blessed to have you as a son-in-law for twenty years. You will always be my first son-in-law, and you will always hold that special spot in my heart. We love you Seymour. Rest in Heaven Seymour, and spend some time with your family in heaven.

I have great memories of Seymour, I remember him and Louis teaching me to count money around age 7. He was always so patient and never cared if I made a mistake. He was a true friend and was always so kind. Spent many Christmases in the Bahamas with him and Mary and they were just family. He is a great person, may he rest in peace and his family find comfort.

We have shared great times in our life. Our hearts will be forever filled with special love for one another. I am, as you always said "my father's daughter", and I am proud to be just that. You have taken a part of my heart with you and left me a part of yours. I love you, forever. Rest with peace, Dad. Starr

My grandpa, the only grandparent I had through my adult years, I'll never forget all the fun at the carnivals and fairs, the penny fall machines, the chicken cutlets and water in your third cocktail.
I'll never forget you teaching me poker and giving me that ET doll that was as big as me that I carried EVERYWHERE for years.
I'll never forget the excitement I felt when I knew I'd get to see you.
I remember you young and was lucky enough to grow older, together. All the Thanksgivings and Hannukkas we shared, birthdays and special moments in between. Our short but sweet phone calls where I could hear your smile thru your voice on the phone, muffled by your cigar.
Every time I smell the aroma of cigar tobacco, it takes me to you. Every time I play cards or go to Vegas to test my luck, you're with me. Every time I travel to new places, it's your bravery of travel that let's me relax and enjoy the new environment. I have your bottom lip, your lazy eye and taste in shoes.
I know as I write this, you're putting on a new pair of Jordans and Tommy Bahama clothes to go relax with the rest of your family in heaven.
You taught me to live life to the fullest, to follow what makes you happy and not to worry what anyone else thinks. You give me strength and a sense of adventure as I, myself grow older.
I wish I was able to tell you I love you just one more time but I know that you knew.... Besides, I AM A PART OF YOU!!!!!!!
