Shabar Ramon Turpin

Death cannot eclipse our love for him nor can time wither away our precious memories.

On Monday December 12, 2022 this transitory life came to a close when Shabar Ramon Turpin was called to rest.  Shabar was born on January 21, 1977 at Muhlenberg Hospital in Plainfield, New Jersey to the late Daisy Victoria Harvey and Robert Blake Sr.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Beatrice Robinson and brother, Frank Moffet.

Shabar received his education from the Plainfield Public School System.  As a child he played pop warner football as a quarterback and he was good.  He was formerly employed at Norfolk Southern Rail Yard, and learned the trade of the sheet rocking business from working with his father.

Shabar resided in Plainfield for many years before returning to join his family in Rustburg, VA.  He was a loving, kind and good hearted person that would give you the shirt off his back.  He had his own personal relationship with God.  He loved his family and only wanted to build relationships and bonds with everyone.  He was strength personified and even going through life struggles and illness he would always SHOW UP.  Shabar told the truth even about his self, he had no problem telling you what was on his mind and then saying I LOVE YOU.  He was a free spirit and enjoyed life as God had given it to him.

Shabar leaves to cherish his precious memory, two daughters, Victoria Townsend and Jolie Lawson; two sons, Jameel Turpin and Nafis Turpin; a legacy of brothers and sisters, Lavonda Harvey, Vincent Turpin, Shanequa Franklin, Billy Moffet (Lisa), Doris Moffet, Robert Moffet, Phyllis Moffet, Perry Smith, Zelma Blake, Donald Blake, Terry Blake, Sylvia Blake, Steven Blake, Tweedy Bird, Ronnie Harris, Jeffery Harris and Chanel Cummings; a devoted uncle, Warren Charlton; three aunts, Dorothy Anthony, May Blake and B Blake and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many devoted friends that are considered as family.

A funeral service will be held 4:30pm on Friday, December 23, 2022 at Community Funeral Home Chapel.  Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home.  Condolences may be emailed to comfuneral@aol.com.
