Shahla Gharanfoli Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 29, 2024.
It is with deep sadness we share that Shahla Gharanfoli (nee Bahreini) passed away on May 27, 2024, at the age of 78 in Cockeysville, Maryland. She was born on September 15, 1945, in Shiraz, Iran. She immigrated to the US in 1973, and built a life around her family, friendships and 40+ year nursing career.

Shahla is survived by her devoted son Siamack Gharanfoli, loving daughter, Sepideh Gharanfoli, caring son-in-law Mahyar Irani, cherished grandson Arya Irani, and beloved granddaughter Kimiya Irani, as well as her siblings and family in Iran and around the world.

She was the best friend, mother and grandmother. She loved life and being around her loved ones, a group well extended beyond immediate family. She saw beauty in everyone. She enjoyed travel and new experiences, cooking, shopping, gardening, volunteering, and most recently painting. Her kind spirit and infectious laugh warmed up any room or table.

A gathering to remember and celebrate Shahla's life will be held:

Sunday, June 2, 2024
2pm - 7pm
16 Lochwynd Court
Phoenix, MD 21131

The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in honoring the memory of Shahla, known affectionately as Gaga. Shahla loved gathering with friends and family regularly, catching up on life, laughing together, playing cards, creating memories, being present. Her wish was for all those dear to her to come together, bond, and reminisce in her honor. All are welcome to attend at any time during the gathering.

Thank you to all, for your caring support over the past several months. Your presence and love meant so much to us, most importantly to our mom. From visits, phone calls, meals, help with appointments, caregiving, prayer and concern, words of support/advice, and being there for us. You brightened her last days, and we will never forget your kindness.
