Shane Bossert Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 8, 2025.
Shane Morgan Bossert, born on February 28, 1973, in York, Pennsylvania, passed away tragically on December 19, 2024, in Reno, Nevada.

Shane was preceded in death by his biological father, Thomas Bray; his grandparents, Thelma and Guy Bray and Pauline and Don Abbott Thomas, all of Pennsylvania. He is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Tracy (Krause) Bossert of Reno; his son Kyle Cottrell of San Diego; his daughters Morgan and LeeAnna of Reno; his parents Philip and Milly Bossert of Sparks, Nevada; and his sister Rebecca Bray of Windsor, Pennsylvania. He also leaves behind his parents-in-law Jon F. and Patricia Krause of Reno; brothers-in-law Jon P. Krause of Ramona, California, and Damon Krause of Sparks; sister-in-law Marylee (Krause) Vest of Reno; as well as numerous extended family members across the United States. Shane will be deeply missed by the countless friends he made throughout his life and travels.

Shane spent his early years in Pennsylvania before moving to Nevada with his family. He grew up in Sparks, attending Dilworth Middle School and Reed High School. After graduating high school, he returned to Pennsylvania to work as an electrician for his grandfather but soon discovered a passion for signs. Upon returning to Nevada, Shane met Tracy, and the two were married in 2000. In 2001, he founded Boss Signs, dedicating himself to building a successful business that reflected his hard work and creativity. Shane and Tracy welcomed their daughters Morgan on July 27, 2000, and LeeAnna on April 13, 2008.

An avid outdoorsman and firearm enthusiast, Shane enjoyed hunting and fishing, often sharing these pursuits with family and friends. He was also a talented cook who found joy in preparing meals for loved ones. His hobbies included horticulture, beer making, raising livestock, and caring for his cherished dogs: Truckee and Juniper, German Shorthair Pointers, as well as Luna and Terra, Yorkies.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 12, at 10:00 a.m. at La Paloma Funeral Services (5301 Longley Lane, Ste E-180, Reno). A celebration of Shane's life will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the California Building in Idlewild Park (75 Cowan Drive, Reno). All are welcome to attend either event to honor Shane's memory and reconnect with the friendships he cherished.

Shane's legacy lives on through the love he shared with his family and friends and the many lives he touched along the way. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.

All,

Please note that Shane's services and Celebration of Life are on Sunday the 12th, not the 13th. The website published the incorrect date. I am working to fix this. Thank you.
