Shane Kelly Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 11, 2025.
Shane Kelly, 50, from Walpole, Massachusetts, and most recently of East Bridgewater, passed away suddenly on January 31, 2025.

Born on January 1, 1975, Shane was the first baby born that year at Norwood Hospital. He grew up in Walpole and graduated from Walpole High School in 1993 before attending Westfield State College, where he earned a degree in Criminal Justice.

Shane dedicated over two decades to serving as a Federal Agent, working as a Border Patrol Agent, a Federal Air Marshal, and most recently as part of the TSA VIPR team. His commitment to protecting others was a defining part of his life and career.

Above all, Shane cherished being a father to his son Gavin, holding him close from the day he was born. He spent countless hours watching him play sports and witnessing him grow into the confident, caring young man he is today. Shane's unwavering love for Gavin will be his lasting legacy.

In his free time, Shane enjoyed golfing and playing cards with his buddies, many of whom he had known since childhood.

Shane is survived by his wife, Amanda; his son, Gavin; his parents, Ruth Bayer and Steve Kelly and his wife Gayle; his brother, Eric Kelly and his partner Nikki Durant; and his sisters, Caitlin Kelly and Meaghan LeClerc and her husband Don LeClerc. He will also be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, godchildren, friends, and colleagues.

Shane's larger-than-life smile and deep love for family and friends will be remembered always.

Shane, thank you for serving our country. It´s clear that you lived an honorable life, protecting the innocent in the skies and on the ground. For me, I´ll always remember our rides off Plimpton Street street quads & dirt bikes on the tracks you ,me and Jimmy. Gavin should be very proud of his Dad. You set a great example for him to follow. Rest easy Shane. .
