Shane Proctor, 32, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away Monday, August 5, 2002 in Gulfport, Mississippi from injuries received in a motorcycle accident. He was born December 15, 1969 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Shane graduated from Banquete High School in 1988 and then served 4 1/2 years in the U.S. Army during Desert Storm. He worked as a crane operator. He was preceded in death by his father, Ricky Stephen Proctor and his grandfather, Doyle Craven. He is survived by his parents, Brenda and Troy Chamberlain of Farmington, New Mexico; two children, Tyler and Brooke Proctor of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; his sister and brother-in-law, Shondel and Dustin Weaver of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; two step-brothers, Jackie and Clifford Chamberlain of Santa Fe, Texas; his grandparents, Foy and Vondell Johnson of Corpus Christi and Georgia Chamberlain of Santa Fe; niece and nephew, Chris and Courtney Worrell; aunts and uncles, Ray and Sheila Craven and Sylvia and Danny Shoe all of Corpus Christi; his girlfriend, Dena Ladner of Gulfport, Mississippi. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 9, 2002 in Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be his brother-in-law, Dustin Weaver, and his cousins, Kevin and Kelly Craven, John, Craig and Justin Snipes.

Shane was a close friend of mine in Atlanta.. I have tried to get in touch with him when I heard the news. I was coming out to Mississippi the following week. I literally wondered if what I heard was true and I've wondered about him since 2002. He was a great guy and like a big brother to me. I guess now I know 100%, what happened to my buddy God bless bud.. To Shanes family I'm sorry for your loss and if anyone ever wants to get in touch my name is Tony Bragger I'm on Facebook and I now live in Belleair Florida area
