Tony,
I'm so sorry. I still cant believe this has happened. I'm back from South Africa now and I want to see you as soon as you have time.
I think about Shane a lot and the circumstances are completely unfair.
I'm so sorry for the pain you must feel. Shane was an amazing person and the most genuine I ever knew. He truly impacted my life and was a huge part of it.
I know we will all reconnect with him one day and I feel a comfort that he is watching over us. I know he is happy and at peace.

I'm sad to say I didn't see this earlier, Shane was a great guy, and he's for sure gonna be missed. Definitely one of the best soccer players i've had the pleasure of playing with.

Dear Tony,
It is with a heavy heart that we are reconnected today. As now we say both good bye and hello to your son Shane.
We say good bye to the physical focus of our relationship with Shane and greet the relationship with his soul that now begins anew.
Shane made a huge difference in this world. He touched many hearts. My prayer is that your grief moves through you gently. You are doing good, even through your grief and I know Shane is so proud of you.
The positiveness you are bringing to this frustrating situation is only going to bring greater understanding and awareness. Thank you for being strong and speaking up at this most difficult time.

I am so glad to have known you, we had some very entertaining times driving around town in that silver civic, and I will always remember the kindness your family showed to me when we were still tiny soccer players. Tony, my family and I are deeply saddened for this loss, and are constantly living at the exact same place where you used to pick me up and drop me off all those years ago. I used to talk to shane back in 2003 when I was in grade 10 and he was in grade 12. I remember him being this absolutely awesome guy who always knew how to make you smile. He will be missed by everyone whose lives he was a part of.

Tony, we only just heard about the loss of Shane. We wanted to say how sorry we are and know that this is a most difficult time for you. There is no loss greater than that of a child. Shane and I go back many years. Shane was my first boyfriend, and a good friend all throughout school. I'll never forget that necklace he bought me for Christmas in grade six, it was inspired by the movie Titanic, haha. Shane and I always joked and called eachother by the names Victoria and David Beckham. It's really hard to see such a great person go, but Shane will always live on in the memories of his friends and family.

Shane you were such an amazing person. ill never forget when we all first met 3 years ago and all the good times with you and the guys. you had so many great friends and it was sooo hard watchen them friday and saturday but it just goes to show how much everyone really cared for you and how many great friends you had. we all know your in a better place now though and much happier.
Thanx for everything budd:) you we always there to help me out when i needed it. ill neever forget the night you stood up for me and made me stop crying cuz of someone and the night you helped me when i locked my keys in my car at 4 in the morning.. every time i saw you after that you Always had to bring that night up and how you saved me hahah i looooved you for it tho and then theres all the good times at tays and d's and pizza hut haha and seein you at co-op and all your random telephone calls. You were so good at maken people laugh. I MISS YOU!!cant wait to see you on the other side.

I hope that everyone in the family is doing alright.
I remember in grade 5 when Shane, Shane Stecyk, Todd and Chris had this group called the Outlines. They all had nicknames and Shanks was "The Penguin" because he loved the Pittsburg Penguins! I also remember his Penguin jacket hehehe
I hope that Shane is playing just as much soccer up there as he did down here :)

I've known Shane since elementary school and although we lost touch after high school, I will never forget those lunch hours we spent playing soccer or the numerous amount of times Shane would hit on me and I would turn him down:) Shane was always in good spirits and could always put a smile on my face. His passion for soccer and his love of life are just a few of the attributes that he will always be remembered for.

You have no idea how hard this is to try to say goodbye to someone who was such a huge part of your life for so long. When we were together you were the most important person in my life and im so sorry that i wasnt there for you when you needed me the most. Shane you hold such a big part of my heart through Joshua and our memories we shared. Josh will always grow up knowing the great person you were and your memorie will go on in him. We knew Shane for less than a year, but he made an impact that will be with our family for the rest of our lives. What we will remember the most is the gift he gave to our daughter. Dear Shanks family:I felt compelled to drop by today as I lost my nephew Shaun Perry Smith on March 1st of this year.He was 22.Although I never met Shane I saw him through the years from living on the same street.We are now connected.It has been over six months now and my family is coping the best we can.Shaun was the light of our family and is missed very much.We get together lots so as to celebrate our memories.Life has gone on although it is very hard for my brother and Shauns mother to continue.All I can say is treasure all your memories and celebrate his life every day as I am sure you are doing.The web site has helped with seeing how much people care even ones we have not seen for years.Our family knows how you are grieving and our thought and prayers are with you.Rest in peace boys and I hope you meet and share some family stories.Karen Bennett

Shane and I go back since elementary, playing soccer together during our breaks. We only recently became good friends 3 years ago, when he played on the soccer team my brother coached. Last year, him and I did not get a long too great, but still I couldnt give up on him when he needed a friend. I am very sorry to see him go, but I know that his suffering is finally over and that he will finally be happy up in heaven by his mothers side. R.I.P. Shane

I met Shane while we worked at the old Co-op. Fun times there, I will always remember his sense of humor and our funny inside jokes we had with the "Co-op group". He was one of the few people that could make me laugh continuously. I will think of him often and miss him terribly! I hope he is at peace now.

I was a good friend of shane's back in elementary. I remember in grade 5 when Chris, Shane, shane, n I had our group called "the outlines". This is something i will hold close to me for the rest of my days. I want you to know that even though we werent as close now as we were then, I still consider Shane a great friend and I hope that when my time comes that Ill see you at those pearly gates in the end.
