Shannon Barton Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 7, 2025.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shannon Barton, age 51, of Fort Worth, Texas, on March 31st, 2025. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, prized daughter, compassionate sister, and cherished friend. Shannon's life was a testament to kindness, warmth, and unconditional love.

Shannon was born in Anchorage, Alaska, on June 27th, 1973, and very shortly after, her family relocated to San Antonio, Texas, where they spent three years. In November of 1977, the Lucero family moved to Alamosa, Colorado. Shannon was a natural performer and fell in love with dance early in life. As she grew, that passion deepened as she spent her years in dance classes, recitals, and performances. Shannon attended and graduated from Alamosa High School. Shannon's days as a high school cheerleader were just the beginning of a lifetime spent lifting others up. Her natural enthusiasm and support for those she loved never faded-these characteristics were simply part of who she was. Her time in the school band also added yet another layer to her artistic soul. She played the clarinet, bass keyboard, and piano, and was a drum major. Shannon enjoyed blending rhythm and movement into a life that was always in sync with music. This love of music and movement took her all the way to Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas-with a scholarship and a major in dance, minoring in business management.

Following her college years, Shannon began a new chapter that brought her the greatest joy of all-motherhood. She devoted herself to her family and cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Shannon gave birth to her daughter in 1997 and her oldest son in 2003. Her nurturing spirit shaped the lives of those she cared for. In March of 2005, Shannon met Robert Barton. Their passionate love was built on laughter and unwavering support, and they married shortly after, in October of 2005. Shannon and Robert welcomed their son in 2011, making both families whole as one.

Shannon Barton was well-known for her infectious smile and laugh, warm heart, and the way she made everyone feel special. She had an innate ability to make people feel seen. Shannon had a unique gift for remembering names and making people feel welcome, no matter where she went. Her kindness was evident to all who knew her, always prioritizing the well-being of her children, friends, and family. Her love knew no bounds, and her kindness touched the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to meet her. Her warmth and generosity will be remembered by friends and family alike, and her legacy of compassion and empathy will live on in the lives that she touched.

Continuing her legacy is her beloved spouse, Robert Barton; her three children: Bailey Beckham and her spouse, Garod Tow; Nathaniel Baley; and Josef Barton; two stepchildren: Galyna and Brandon Barton; her parents, Josef and Lena Lucero; her sister, Kimberly Lucero, and her spouse, Jenifer Tyndall; and her grandchildren: Blake and Cameron Litzau, and Robert Barton. She is deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of Shannon's life will be held at Weston Gardens In Bloom, located at 8101 Anglin Dr., Fort Worth, Texas, on April 19th, 2025, at 10 o'clock in the morning. Flower deliveries can be made to the address above before the service. The family believes Shannon would have appreciated donations to ongoing cancer research as well.

While Shannon Barton's time on this earth was too short, we are grateful for the time we had. Shannon now rests in peace, and the memories we have will remain in our hearts, never to be forgotten.
