Shannon Lea Hellman

Carl. I moved away from Poquoson over Christmas break 1981, my freshman year. I remember hanging out with you while growing up in that wonderful small town. Somehow my wife notified me of a post on facebook about Shannon's passing. I can't say I remember her all that well. Maybe she moved in after I had left. I am very sorry to hear of your loss. I literally went through all of the photos in the gallery, and it was a wonderful experience for me. Thank you for allowing me to view a part of your life. Until we all meet again.

Carl, you and your family have been an inspiration to all who have known your family throughout Shannon's illness. We didn't have the opportunity to know Shannon well since just coming to Cary but have gotten to know your family and just love all of them!
We are only finite human beings. We can only see the present and the past. The future is a little frightening to us. So weed need to hold onto God's hand and trust Him to calm our fears. We don't call our own shots,,,God has a plan for us, mysterious though it may seem, we want to be in the center of it. That is the safest place on earth to be! We love you and your family!!!

All of the Home Care Assistance team members who have had the privilege to spend time with Shannon and the family mourn for you and are joy filled for Shannon. She truly is dancing in heaven.

Our God's plan was for his children to live peaceful, happy & healthy long lives forever. Know that his plans hasn't changed and are still in progress, until then just remember that God has Shannon in his memory where she will always be in yours.

Dear Carl and Family,

Although I did not know Shannon personally, everyone on the Hellman/Tyler side of the family, my second family, spoke so highly of her and your entire family. Your remarkable strength, love and faith have been an inspiration.
I have to tell you; the first thing that came to mind is that; your Dad was there to greet her with open arms. I always find comfort in knowing as we wave good bye on this side, those on the other side are anxiously waving hello.

We are very saddened that Shannon's life on earth has ended, but we rejoice as we think of Shannon in her new home and new body in the presence of God. Our prayers and thoughts are with the Hellmans and the Rundles at this time. We thank you all for being such inspirations to all that know you.

Your family has made an impact in many people's lives. Shannon was a beautiful woman who fought the fight the dignity and courage. As I have read the many tributes to her, I admire the way she lived her life for Jesus and has left an incredible legacy most people twice her age never do.
