Shannon O'Malia Hall Obituary
40, of Carmel, IN departed this life Sunday, July 27, 2014. Shannon was born October 9, 1973 in Indianapolis to Daniel J. and Rita K. (Doyle) O'Malia. She was a 1992 graduate of Cathedral High School and then earned her teaching degree from the University of Dayton in 1996. Shannon was a loving and dedicated teacher at Holy Cross and St. Matthew Catholic Schools and, for the past twelve years, at St. Louis de Montfort Catholic School in Fishers. She is survived by her children, Connor Doyle Hall and Daniel Rudolph Hall; parents Daniel J. and Rita K. (Doyle) O'Malia; sisters, Janet Lynn (Rich) Andriole and Colleen Danielle (Doug) Stine; nieces, Allison and Madeline; nephews, Nick, Jacob and Ryan and a host of grateful and beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, students, associates and friends. Visitation for Shannon will be from 3 – 8 PM on Thursday, July 31st at St. Louis de Montfort Catholic School Gymnasium. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 on Friday, August 1st at St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church, 11441 Hague Rd., Fishers, IN 46038 (sldmfishers.org) with additional calling there in the school gymnasium beginning at 10:00 AM and concluding at 10:45 AM. Following Mass, all are welcome to attend a light luncheon in Craig Willey Hall. Family, close friends and staff will retire to the Parish Youth Ministry Center; family will visit both venues. Cremation follows services. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Matthew O'Malia Scholarship Fund at Cathedral High School,5225 East 56th St., Indianapolis, IN 46226, (cathedral-irish.org) or to the Connor and Danny Hall Trust at PNC Bank (any branch). Arrangements entrusted to Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary.

I am just learning of Shannon's passing and I'm shocked and saddened. So many of my preschool memories are of playing with Shannon and her wonderful smile. Even when we were little she had a way of lighting up a room. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Cannot even imagine the pain & immeasurable loss The O'Malias and her boys are having to endure losing such a Truly Genuine,Kind,Caring,Loving, Compassionate & Beautiful person as Shannon. She was not just a teacher but was also an inspiration to both my boys years ago at St. Louis de Montfort Catholic School showing them daily what it meant to be a Faithful Catholic in her every word & deed. My oldest son participated with the rest of the class in her wedding & in High School was coached by her husband during Rugby season and cannot/will not understand the why of all this, as neither will I. Although a year younger, I went to school with Shannon all through Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and Cathedral. Our families have this connection, as well as some even further back with my late mom, Marie Meister Grannan, knowing the Doyles growing up. I still cannot comprehend how and why this would happen to such a loving person and family. You've all shown such strength this week, and I was deeply touched by the memories shared and the amazing and important ability to lean on humor at the Cathedral service. My heart aches upon hearing the news of a sudden loss of Mrs. Hall. She was my son's 3rd grade teacher when we moved to Fishers Indiana in 2005 She then was my daughter's 2nd grade teacher before we moved out of Indiana in 2010. I met Shannon through a variety of opportunities-and I truly consider meeting her an opportunity. Our boys made First Communion together a few months ago and I cannot describe in words the brightness she brought to our church families.
