Shannon Ridgeway Obituary
Shannon was born in Melbourne, Australia, but has been a Vermont resident most of his life, graduating from Brattleboro High School. He was a self-employed carpenter. Shannon was a tender and beloved soul who loved and cared for his family dearly. He loved traveling and the spirit connection he experienced while having adventures. He was an amazing fire dancer, mixer of divinely inspired music that moved many, and loved to create art with salvaged materials that came his way. He enjoyed skateboarding, biking, and soccer. Shannon especially loved his son, Nya.
In addition to his parents, Brian and Jolene, Shannon is survived by his wife, Laura (Magallanes) Ridgeway, a son, Nya Ridgeway, both of Westminster; a brother Romney Ridgeway and his wife, Danielle, of Welfleet, MA; a sister, Lauren Bell and her husband, Chris, of Dummerston; two nieces, Brynn and Shyn Ridgeway of Welfleet, MA; a nephew, Collin Bell, of Dummerston, as well as 6 nieces and 5 nephews on his wife's side.
All services will be private. The Ker-Westerlund Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shannon's memory to Laura and Nya to help support them through this difficult time to P.O. Box 991, Putney, VT, 05346.

Shannon was a very special soul. My memories of our friendship are so vibrant, so rich with joy and adventure. He was a great friend and support in recent times for which I will be forever grateful. I send much love to his family and will always hold those amazing times close to my heart. Blessings.

Brian, Joey, Romney and Lauren- There are no words to express to you how sorry I am for your loss. I knew Shannon as such a kind soul and I know he will sorely be missed in the hearts of many.
When I think of Shannon I always picture the darling third grader at Dover School who was always there with a smile and willing to help. That is how I will always remember him and memories will live on for everyone who knew him.

Shannon was loved by many. I will always remember our own intense journey together as young adults and how he shaped a part of my life.
