India 2004 news interview
Julie Magri

Dr. Naimi was one of a kind! I will miss him. It was an honor to attend Tim and Chetna's wedding in India in 2004 with the Naimi family. His sage advice was recognized worldwide - as seen in this photo of a news-on-the-street interview in India during our time there. My sincere condolences to Mrs Naimi, Sudie, Tim, Cam, and family.

Dr. Naimi was one of my favorite teachers as a student and resident, and later as a colleague--the consummate physician and role model for compassionate care. He so effortlessly shared his wisdom, often at patients' bedsides, and was beloved by all. It was such a privilege to learn from him, and to be counted as a colleague over so many years. He definitely helped solidify TMC's renown for clinical excellence and teaching. "Shoop" will be sorely missed.
With deepest condolences to his family,

I was very saddened to learn of Dr Naimi's passing after a long and successful life as a family man and superb physician, cardiologist, caregiver to so many, mentor in the practice of cardiology, and colleague. As an oncologist, I frequently relied upon my cardiology associates to keep me out of trouble over the years and uniformly they came through, Whether. Dr. Naimi or someone who was mentored by him. It was an honor to have him as a colleague. I wish his family much peace in the months ahead. Thanks Shoop for helping to make TuftsMC the place that it is.

Dr. Naimi (I was too young to have the gumption to call him 'Shoop') was a longtime family friend along with his wife Amy and children--most especially to me, his youngest son, with whom I went to school and played hockey. He and Amy were regulars at both practices and games early in the morning and at our sometimes far-flung game locations. I will always remember him as a kind and reserved smiling presence at practices, school functions and car pools who would burst out with arms up and a hurrah when the goals started adding up! My best to his whole family in memorial to a life well-lived.
