Shari Blair Obituary
Shari loved her family and enjoyed family gatherings and outings, listening to music and singing along with her uncle Ronnie (neither of whom could carry a tune). She was a published and accomplished poet. She enjoyed going to Trevat to visit her dad and Billie every chance she got. In the last year she had moved to Columbus to work for her mother and stepfather in a new business they had just opened.
Shari touched many hearts throughout her life with a beautiful smile and a gentle heart. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
Shari is preceded in death by her beloved son Michael Ryan Divine, her grandparents Vernon and Imogene Blair, and Bert and Mildred Chandler.
Surviving Shari is her father Jimmy (Billie) Blair; mother Norma (Steve) Draper; aunt and uncle Sue & Red Mann; uncle and aunt Ronny & Debbie Blair; sisters Maggie (Steven) Cook, Shelby (Russell) Smith, and Shelley Blair; brother Jeffery Blair; stepbrother Ross Draper, stepsister Jennifer (Robbie) Walker; and numerous other loving relatives throughout Texas and Louisianna.
Visitation of family and friends will be held Tuesday July 14 2015 at Restwood Funeral Home beginning at 6pm.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday July 15 2015 at Restwood Funeral Home starting at 10am. Services will be conducted by long-time family friend Pastor John Gambino, and serving as pall bearers will be Jerry Garner, Jimmy Bowles, Kevin Beam, Johnny Self, Ronny Blair, and Neal Blair.
Following the funeral service, Shari Lyn Blair will be laid to rest next to her son, Michael, in Restwood Memorial Park.

Another year has passed since you got your angel wings. There have been quite a few of our family and friends that have since joined you. The latest was your cousin Tim Wheless. Last August 13th he got his wings. That dreaded Covid infection wouldn't let him heal and God called him home. Maybe his Dad, John Paul was needing him in Heaven or perhaps it was your cousin Nicholas Johnson calling. Nickolas and Michael both suffered from Muscular Dystrophy and now both are watching over all of us left here on Earth. I know all of our relatives are have a family reunion every year as God calls us up one by one. I still think about you all the time and talk about our lives together before July 10, 2015. I miss you so much. I know you are still here with me, because I see signs of your presence everywhere. I keep finding pennies on the ground wherever I am, telling me not to worry that everything be ok. Cardinals play outside my window in the kitchen and most if the time one follows or leads me out the driveway. I love you and will never let your memory go away. Love forever and ever, Mom

My love for you has no end. You are missed every day of the year. This is the month of the accident that took your life in 2015. Even after five years, your memory is still so fresh in my mind.i am being selfish for wanting to keep you here when clearly you are reunited with Michael, Papa Blair and Meme, Nanny Chandler and Granddaddy Chandler,Uncle Tommy and lots of other family members too numerous to list. I am making progress in the healing part. I no longer look for you to come thru the back door hollering Hello Mom, it's me! I guess I would have to say that your voice is one of the many things I miss about you. Oh what I would give to hear you say "Hello Mom" one more time. there are advantages to having only one child. one, you don't have as many sleepless nights worrying about the safety of your children, but there is a downside. In my case, I spent Shari's entire life planning on me being the one to leave this world first. The material things that I purchased with Shari in mind, mean nothing now. Keepsakes from her life that I had carefully packed away, are still packed away. The hurt is real, the emotions are real. Nothing seems to matter now. She is gone and will not be back.I have been trying for five years to let go, but it is hard to do. There is a special bond between Mothers and Daughters that cannot be erased. Her memory will be in my heart and in my mind until the day that we are reunited in Heaven.Rest in peace, my sweet Shari. You are loved and missed so much.

July 10, 2015, my world as I knew it came to a halt when I received the dreadful news that my Shari was in an auto accident and didn't make it. Disbelief was my first reaction, then the cold numb feelings set in. I was in a daze for the first few days, maybe weeks or even months. I don't remember a whole lot of what went on around me. Well, it will soon be four years since that awful night. Yes, I can say I have healed some. I can now speak her name without choking up and crying. She sends me signs that say she is with me. I still can't believe she is really gone. The love I have for her now is impossible to describe. Only a mother can know the special bond between her and her children. I will go to my grave loving and missing her, but I know she will be waiting for me in Heaven with arms wide open and that smile as big as Texas! Thanks to all of you that have reached out to my family and I know Shari is happy now . I have renewed this site for another year.

Now that it has been one year, I decided to renew this Legacy page . My heart still hurts and I still miss Shari so very much. The past year flew by, but in a sense, time stood still. I find myself looking out the window, expecting to see her truck parked at the mobile home. I know she is no longer itch us physically but her memory is constantly here. During the past year, I learned about so many lives she touched. On young lady called me to tell me that my daughter had turned her life around. After a brief conversation with Shari, she had walked away with a completely different attitude. It brought tears to my eyes, but my heart swelled with pride, knowing that Shari he unite possibly saved another's life with her compassion. Yes, she was an extraordinary woman, full of life, but also silently mourning her son. I am so proud of the beautiful woman she became. I have always heard that God calls the best home early . He certainly did thus time. I will cherish her memories and pray that we will be reunited one day in heaven. I love you, Shari.

I knew Shari in Lake Jackson. For several years she, Dennis & Michael were regular faces at our house. I always admired Shari, she always smiled, and I never heard her complain once in the years. She was a wonderful Mother & wife. I wish I had taken the time then to tell her how truly impressive she was....My condolences to her family & our world, because it won't be near as bright without her in it.

I had only met Shari and Michael a few times at some of the parties yall had. So can't say I knew her, but anyone who cared for a disabled child like she did had to be a great person. I'm sorry I didn't get to know her better. I know that you will be hurting for a long time.....a parent should never lose a child no matter what age they are. My prayers go out to you and my heart.

May God show mercy on you. Losing your daughter is unimaginable. Shari and I shared a the birthday and worked together at Dillard's and also in the C-Store industry. Her stunning read hair and beautiful smile lit up a room. Her eyes always showed love and compassion. I'm sad that she's gone but I know she's ecstatic to be with her son. Shari was more than a friend, she was a sister to me. We became close friends in the 6th grade and when she started dating Denis who was one of my best friends , we came closer friends. Then we all 3 moved in together and we became even closer that's when I felt like she was family we talked about things I never thought I could trust telling anyone. Shari I am deeply saddened by your passing but knowing you are with your beloved son gives me peace. You will never leave my thoughts and your words will live with me forever. Love You

I didn't have the pleasure of knowing Shari. But as with most people in a small town, you know who they are and their families. I have known Shari all my life. We went to Elementary, Junior High, High School together and remained close all the years after. When we were young, we played softball together for many years and along with Denell and Kim and others, were all proud members of the 13 - 0 Fighting Honeybees, coached by none other than her Aunt Sue Mann. There is no way around it. This is a very tough loss. But it is comforting to know she is with her son now, and angels all over Heaven are getting to hear that infectious laugh. Just needed to share a little of our time with Shari! Growing up spending Christmas together at nannys different homes the one I think we all have the best memories was in logansport. That porch swing. .the rabbits, and bouncing on all those brass metal beds in the back bedroom together while our parents visited in the living room. We opened our gifts together and continued these traditions until our families were just too big. I love you Shari and you'll be in our hearts as an inspiration! I was blessed for being able to call Shari my friend. She looked past the kid who wore funky clothes when we went to Brazoswood, and always made me feel special. Shari and I found out we had a connection the first time we met
We found out we both raised special children and lost them too
