Sharon Bailey Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 17, 2025.
Sharon Gregg Bailey, 64, of Palm Coast, FL, was called home to Heaven on January 16, 2025. A true and faithful servant to the Lord, her body has been restored and her soul now rejoices.

Sharon was born in Ashland, Alabama, in 1960 to Doyle and Geraldine Gregg, and called Oxford, Alabama her home for most of her life. She graduated from Oxford High School in 1978, and was a long-time teller at AOD Federal Credit Union on Anniston Army Depot before she and her family relocated to the Daytona Beach area in the late 1990s.

Sharon was greeted in Heaven by her husband, Benjamin Bailey, her parents, Doyle and Geraldine Gregg, her brother, Gerald Gregg, and many other beloved family members. She is survived by her daughter Mandy Kraverotis (Eddie), son Brad Hughes (Ryan), brother Ronald Gregg (Judith), sister-in-law Lenell Gregg Johnson (Paul), sister-in-law Eva Bailey, brother-in-law Frank Bailey (Terri), grandchildren Graham and Lane Hughes, nieces and nephews Haley Gregg, Kyle Gregg, Andrea Whitten, and Andrew Bailey, several cousins and great nieces and nephews, and countless friends she considered family.

Sharon's infectious laugh, bright smile, eternal optimism, and endless empathy for others meant she never met a stranger. Sharon truly exemplified the belief that love, not blood, is what made a family. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and devotion to others, and has left an indelible mark on the lives of us all. Her greatest joy in life was being a MawMaw to the loves of her life, Graham and Lane.

The family would like to express their gratitude to our cousin Pam Cason as well as Judy Egan and her family for their extraordinary support during this time.

A memorial service will be held for Sharon at Trinity Baptist Church in Oxford, Alabama on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 11:00AM with Dr. C.O. Grinstead presiding. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Advent Health Hospice Care of East Florida.
