In Loving Memory of Sharon "Pokey" Beach (1945 - 2025)

Sharon "Pokey" Beach, of St. Pete Beach, Florida, passed away on April 28th, 2025. She was the loving Wife of Jim, beloved Mother to Kerrie Campanile (Joe) and Jason "Jake" Beach (Trisha), Grandmother to Sabrina Beach, Kayla Campanile, Joey Campanile, Ashley Beach and Gabby Beach, Great-Grandmother to Felix Borders. She is also fondly remembered by her two sisters, Patty and Linda and her many nieces and nephews. She also had many dear friends that she kept in close touch with for over 60 years.

She was born in Piqua, Ohio on June 7th, 1945, to John Joseph and Dorothy Louise Hocker. She attended Oakwood High School in Dayton, Ohio, graduating in 1963. She attended the Dayton Art Institute becoming a commercial artist. She later modeled for magazines, including several TV commercials. She also taught aerobics for several years, but mostly enjoyed her time spent at home caring for her children and grandchildren, who loved her deeply.

Crocheting and knitting were her greatest hobbies, always having a project going for someone special. She also enjoyed Word Search puzzles, scratch-off lottery tickets and having "just the one" glass of wine.

Pokey will always be remembered by her fun personality, infectious laugh and a sparkle in her eye. To know her was to love her and if you were lucky enough to be her friend, you were truly blessed.

There will be a memorial service and Celebration of Life on Friday, May 9th, 2025 from 2:00-5:00pm at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club.

I have many fond and fun memories of our times together for over 40 years. Beach, Kerrie, Jake and your families, I know you will miss Pokey and have so many wonderful memories of your times with her, as will I. Remembering her infectious laugh and sense of humor makes me smile. Her love of her family had no boundaries. She couldn´t wait to be a grandmother and delighted in each one of her grandchildren. Her crocheted afghans were so special. She taught me to make the one with a name on them. I made one for each of my children as wedding presents and grandchildren for their birthdays and thought of her as each one admired theirs.
I will miss you, Pokey, and know you´re entertaining those we´ve lost over the years with your fun nature and beautiful smile.

To the Beach Family....I am so sorry for your great loss. Pokey was an amazing person. I remember when a hurricane was going to come towards St Pete Beach and everyone was leaving and Pokey asked me if I had anywhere to go. We were in Gulf 5000 condos. She and Jim took me to Jake´s house inland. God bless them for being so kind to me.
She was such a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
My deepest sympathies to all of you.
