CARTER-EDWARDS _ Ernest It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ernest Carter-Edwards, beloved husband of Helen who passed away at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on Friday, May 30, 2003. Ernie was born in Montreal on July 20, 1925. Ernie will be dearly missed by his son Stephen (Zuzana); daughter Penny (David); daughter Therese; and grandchildren, Melanie, Bernadette and Hannah; also brother Edward (Lois) of Smithville, Ontario. Predeceased by his father John, mother Marie, brother John and sister Lillian. He is also survived by many wonderful relatives and friends. Ernest served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1944 to 1975. He also worked at the Roman Catholic Separate School District No. 1 until 1986. Following retirement, Helen and Ernest were volunteer members of the Palliative Care Team at the Calgary General (Bow Valley) Hospital and Peter Lougheed Hospital for many years. Some of the hobbies that Ernest loved were square dancing and telling humorous stories. Ernest built his first trailer and traded up over the years in size to achieve The Ranch at Sylvan Lake. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. If friends desire, in lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Peter Lougheed Hospital.
