A memorial service will be held for Sharon Gilchrist at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2015, at Heritage Trail Cowboy Church in Ben Wheeler, under the direction of Hilliard Funeral Home, with a celebration of life to follow at Moore's Store. Visitation will be held at the Cowboy Church on Thursday 6 to 8 p.m.

Sharon Lee Burnop Gilchrist was born June 3, 1952, and passed away at the age of 62 on May 8, 2015, in Tyler. She born and raised in Tyler, where she graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. She moved to Ben Wheeler in 1981, where she lived ever since and raised her family. She was the co-owner of Door Control Services Inc. for 34 years, alongside her husband, Don. She loved to travel, enjoyed painting, and was a complete supermom.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Wayne Burnop and Shirley May Luebke Burnop, and her oldest daughter, Stephanie Leigh Hall.

Survivors include her husband of more than 34 years, Don Gilchrist, of Ben Wheeler; four children, Summer Haltom, of Ben Wheeler, Stacey Lamb and husband Patrick, of Colorado, Shea Gilchrist, of Ben Wheeler, and Paxton Gilchrist and wife Laura, of Ben Wheeler; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Nancy Burnop, of Austin, Jimmy and Kathleen Burnop, of Georgetown, and Tommy and Sandra Burnop, of Tyler; and three grandchildren, whom she loved very much, Reed Haltom, Aiden Ragsdale and Marshall Gilchrist.

The family highly encourages that memorials be made to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, www.tsrhc.org.
