Lewis Grassi Obituary

Lewis Anthony Grassi, departed this life Sept. 13, 2008, at Eastwood Manor, Commerce, Okla. He was 89 years old. He was born to John and Mary Paten Grassi, Feb. 26, 1919, in Pittsburg, Kan. He married Louise “Doll” Strickland, Jan. 10, 1938. She preceded him in death in 2006. He served his country during World War II in France and Germany. He was a member of the 103rd Infantry Division and was wounded twice. Lewis was preceded in death by two sons, Lewis A. Grassi Jr. and Kenneth Ray Grassi; one daughter, Anna Ellen Grassi; three brothers, John, Norman and Lester Grassi; and a sister, Ruby Marie Grassi. He is survived by a son, Robert Grassi and wife, Marta, Goodman, Mo.; three daughters, Ruth Goad and husband, Gary, Wyandotte, Okla., Donna Witte and husband, Charles, Alabama and Lois and husband, Raymond, Commerce; one sister, Mary Ann Wallace, Pittsburg; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and other family and friends. Funeral services under the personal direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at the Faith Assembly of God in Wyandotte, with Rev. Frank Spendin officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with grandchildren serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Faith Assembly of God in Wyandotte.In lieu of memorial contributions send flowers.

Wish we could have gotten down for the funeral, but hope you understand why we couldn't.
