It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sharon Rose Kaiser, 81, of

South Bloomfield, Ohio, on November 24th.

Sharon was born on December 19, 1942, to William "Bud" and Beulah Brookover, who

preceded her in death, along with her beloved siblings, Allen Brookover and Beth

Flowers-Diles. Sharon is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Kaiser, and her daughter Donna (Lockington) Johns-Thomas and her wife Beth. She also leaves behind stepchildren: Kim Puckett (Lonnie), Kerry Kaiser (Audra), and Kyle Kaiser (Missy). Sharon adored her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and especially niece Megan Cochenour, as well as her treasured great-nieces Shalee, Jerzee, and Jordynn. She shared a deep and special bond with her cousin Cathy Hartley-Plimpton, whose unwavering love and friendship brought her joy and comfort. Sharon's life was a tapestry of remarkable experiences and steadfast determination. From 1961 to 1971, she lived and worked for the Ohio Government in Washington, D.C., where she had the distinct honor of attending the reception for astronaut John Glenn following his historic Friendship 7 mission. (The silver sugar spoon she "liberated" from that event remains a cherished family artifact.) In 1981, Sharon was a savy business owner, establishing Lockington's Jewelers in Chillicothe. What began in the spare bedroom of her home blossomed into a thriving business, operating successfully until 1993. Beyond her professional achievements, Sharon was a woman of simple joys and immense love. She delighted in reading, cherished time with her family, and unapologetically binge-watched Hallmark Christmas movies every chance she got. Christmas was her favorite season, and she passed her deep love for all things festive to her daughter, Donna, who has carried on the tradition by decorating her tree by November 1st each year. Sharon's legacy is one of laughter, humor, and a deep love for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her but never forgotten. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the hospice team at Heartland, especially her compassionate caregivers, Shannon and Holly, whose kindness and dedication brought comfort and peace to Sharon in her final days. Funeral services will be held at Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in Beckett Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Sharon's memory to Planned Parenthood. Sharon's spirit will live on in the twinkle of holiday lights, the pages of a good book, and the loving embrace of her family. May she rest in peace, her heart forever warm with the glow of Christmas. Online condolences can be made to www.wellmanfuneralhomes.com.

I had to smile when I read Sharon´s obituary when the silver spoon was mentioned. She and I went together to that event and I also have one of those spoons
