Sharon Kornreich Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 1, 2025.
Sharon Ruth Kornreich (nee Hoelsher) was called to the Church Triumphant on Aug. 17, 2025, after succumbing to dementia-related illness. Sharon was born to Geraldine and William Hoelsher on Oct. 6, 1943, in Dayton, Ohio. They eventually moved to Cincinnati, where she met her husband-to-be Jim in the Cincinnati school system. They married on June 12, 1965, and remained devoted to each other until Jim's death in 2003. Sharon was a loving, dedicated stay-at-home mother, having been trained as a secretary at the University of Cincinnati, and having worked in similar venues after her children were grown. She was very active in her local Lutheran church, working with women's groups, as a pastor's secretary, and with charity-related quilting groups. She enjoyed a suite of arts and crafts throughout her life, including tole painting, basket making, quilting, and applique. Sharon is survived by her two sons, Drew (Alexandra) and Brad (Amy), and her four grandchildren, Katie, Emily, Megan, and Ryan. Many thanks are due to the staff at All Season's Oro Valley and Catalina Lutheran Church for the wonderful physical and spiritual care they provided over Sharon's final two years. A small memorial service will be held at the Fountain of Life Lutheran Church columbarium on Sep. 12 at 10am.
