Sharon Mason Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 11, 2024.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon Marie Mason on November 18, 2024, at the age of 68. After a courageous battle with cancer, Shari passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones.

Shari was born to Ronald and Ruby Schuttie on January 30, 1956, in Centralia, Washington. She spent her early years in Silver Falls before moving to Seaview and later to Onalaska, Washington. A graduate of Onalaska High School, Shari went on to earn a degree as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from Green River Community College. Her career was marked by years of dedicated service to both the State of Washington and the Puyallup School District, from which she retired.

Shari married Jeff Mason, and together they raised two daughters in Puyallup, Washington. A devoted mother, wife, daughter, and grandmother, she cherished her family above all else. As a mother, Shari was unwavering in her love and support for her girls. She especially cherished her role as a grandmother, a title that brought her immeasurable joy.

Shari's passion for service extended beyond her professional career; she found fulfillment in volunteering, serving her community, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Her commitment to her faith was evident in her deep love for her church, where she faithfully served and supported various ministries. Whether through organizing events, offering a helping hand, or simply providing a listening ear, Shari's involvement in her church was a testament to her devotion to both God and her community.

Shari found immense joy in spending time outdoors, whether hiking with friends through the trails she loved, skiing down snowy slopes, tending to her yard, or simply being surrounded by the beauty of nature. She had fond memories of visiting the family farm where she spent countless hours surrounded by the peaceful countryside. The beach, where she lived as a child, held a special place in her heart. Shari also enjoyed traveling to visit friends and family, always cherishing the moments spent together. Some of her favorite memories are berry picking with her dad and visiting flower fields with her mom. Shari's love for nature and the people she cared about were central to her life.

Her warmth, generosity, and kindness left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. Shari's legacy of love, compassion, and community will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will forever be remembered for her generous spirit, her boundless energy, and the beautiful way she touched the lives of those around her.

Shari is survived by her husband Jeff Mason, daughters Jennifer (Gary) Senior and Andrea (Matt) Greenlaw; grandchildren Jackson, Cheyanne, Ryder, and Gaven; brother Ronn (Cindy) Schuttie; brothers-in-law Mark Mason and Craig Mason; sister-in-law Toni Arritola; niece Haylee (Shawn) Downs; nephew Kyle Schuttie; and a host of family and friends who will miss her dearly.

A celebration of Shari's life will be held on Saturday, January 25th, 2025 at 1 pm, at Our Savior Lutheran Church (4519 112th St E, Tacoma, WA). A reception with refreshments will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation.
