Sharon E. McGaughey a lifelong resident of Waukegan Services for Sharon E. McGaughey, 45, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, at Marsh Funeral Home of Gurnee, 305 Cemetery Road, Gurnee. Born March 14, 1959, in Waukegan, she passed away Friday, March 26, 2004, at Desert Banner Hospital in Mesa, Ariz., after a short battle with cancer. Burial will be in Ascension Cemetery. Sharon was an avid Cubs fan and a member of the Women of the Moose. She worked for Riley Construction in Waukegan. Survivors include her special friend, Tim Tansey; siblings, Michael McGaughey of Milwaukee, Wis., Maureen McGaughey of Antioch, Bridget Krakovsky of Round Lake, Eileen Quist of Kenosha, Wis., Coleen (Donny) Baker of Zion, Kevin (Megan) McGaughey of Wadsworth and Sheila (John) Dempsey of Arlington Heights; nieces and nephews, Kelly (Scot) Kurek, Jason Quist, Jessica and Abigail Grover, Amanda Fosterling, Kevin Baker and Charlie, Patrick and Ryan Dempsey; and her cat, Jessie Ann. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene S. McGaughey in 1989 and Elizabeth J. McGaughey in 1993; and nephew, Jeremy M. Govekar in 1999. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today, and 9 a.m. until the time of the services Friday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Northern Illinois Chapter of The Compassionate Friends, 31023 Prairie Ridge Road, Green Oaks, IL 60048.
