Sharon Miles, a trailblazer and an extraordinary woman, passed away on February 16, 2025, in Menifee, California, at the age of 85.

Born on October 24, 1939, in Topeka, Kansas, Sharon's life was marked by resilience and achievement from an early age. She began her journey by overcoming polio as a child-a challenge that only strengthened her determination. Not only did she conquer the disease, but she went on to qualify for the Olympics, excelling in any sport she pursued. Her passion for athletics remained with her throughout her life as a dedicated sports enthusiast.

Sharon pursued higher education with distinction, earning a bachelor's degree from LaVerne College in LaVerne, California, and later obtaining a master's degree from her beloved Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts. Her academic achievements laid the foundation for an impressive career that broke barriers and set new standards. She made history as the first Woman Police Chief on a college campus in the nation-a testament to her leadership and pioneering spirit. Beyond law enforcement, she thrived in sales, receiving high honors for her excellence in the field. She also embraced entrepreneurship by successfully running her own business.

A woman of deep faith, Sharon was a devout Christian whose compassion extended beyond her professional accomplishments. She dedicated time to working with underprivileged children, striking a balance between love and discipline to guide and uplift those in need. Her generosity of spirit and unwavering commitment to helping others left an indelible mark on many lives.

Sharon had an adventurous soul and a thirst for knowledge. She traveled the world extensively and was a voracious reader who never stopped seeking wisdom and new experiences. Her remarkable life was filled with passion, perseverance, and an unyielding drive to excel in everything she did.

She is survived by her twin sister Karen Shepard; sister Paula Miller; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. She was predeceased by her parents Ralph and Katherine Miles; brothers Ralph and Terry Miles and sister Pamela Blair.

A funeral service will be held on April 22, 2025, at Todd Memorial Chapel, located at 570 N. Garey Ave., Pomona, California, 91767. The service will begin at 11:00 AM as family and friends gather to honor Sharon's incredible life and legacy. Sharon Miles was truly one of a kind-remarkable in every sense of the word. Her strength, kindness, and pioneering spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
