Sharon Holland Wachsman

ALBANY Sharon Holland Wachsman, age 88, of the Massry Residence on Washington Avenue Extension in Albany, died Wednesday evening, March 17, 2004 at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. She was born in Albany and was a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of the Albany High School. She had been employed as a bookkeeper and office manager for the former Madison Filling Station which was located at the intersection of Madison Avenue and Broadway in Albany and later was employed in the same capacity for D. Brickman Inc., Menands Market. She was a member of Temple Israel in Albany. She was the loving wife of the late Sol Wachsman who died in June of 1992. She is survived by her loving son, Dr. William Wachsman who is a professor of medicine in the division of hematology-oncology and cancer center at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine and the VA San Diego Healthcare System; mother-in law of Dr. Matilda Remba who is a pediatrician on the staff of Scripps Clinic Medical Group in La Jolla, Calif.; grandmother of Solenne Ilona Wachsman and Tamara Regine Wachsman. She was predeceased by two sisters, Rose Holland and Ella Yavner; and a brother, Robert Holland. Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue, Albany, N.Y. on Sunday, March 21, 2004 at 12 noon. Interment will follow in the Temple Israel Cemetery, Guilderland, N.Y.
