Sharon Wilkinson

WILKINSON, Sharon It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Sharon Wilkinson, on May 11, 2016. Sharon leaves behind her beloved sons, Craig and Justin, daughter-in-law Chris, brother Wayne, and sister-in-law Phyllis. Sharon also leaves behind nieces Angela (Mike) and Heather (Steve), two great nephews Cole and Dalton, cousin Jan and her sons Arlie and Brett, Uncle Don and his family, and very special Aunt Ruth in Calgary. Sharon was predeceased by her mother in 1989 and father in 1992. She was blessed by having many precious and valued friends and neighbours. Our mother was an avid duplicate bridge player and became a Life Master in 1972. (American Contract Bridge League). Mom lived in three provinces: B.C., Alberta and Ontario. While living in the Okanagan, she taught Contract Bridge through Adult Education at schools within the district, recreation centres, and also at Okanagan College. During the 1970's and 1980's, Mom was very politically involved, and worked hard and loyally for her chosen party. She involved herself with many charities and also felt very rewarded for answering the phones for a crisis line. Mom also enjoyed reading, swimming, visiting with family and friends, water sports, walking, and target practise with both rifles and handguns. She was considered a good marksman. She loved the outdoors. She loved travelling and visited Hawaii, Peru, Costa Rica, Germany, France, Spain, Mexico, and (very briefly) Morocco. She visited many cities in both Canada and the U.S. Mom retired in 2006. Mom was a wonderful, kind and caring person. Through her life she taught us important lessons in how to live ours.
