Shawn Carter, age 32, was welcomed home to Heaven by his beloved Mother, Linda Scheffler (nee Deja) and sister, Michelle Carter. Shawn was born in Neenah, Wisconsin on October 9, 1984. He enjoyed listening to music, writing going fishing and four wheeling as well as other hobbies. Shawn especially loved spending time with family and friends. He loves playing with and (bragging about) his sons and his many nieces and nephews. Shawn was always full of jokes and stories and was quick to put a smile on your face. Shawn is survived by his sons, Anthony and Adam; brother, Lee Carter, sister, Tammy Scheffler; step-father, Gerald Scheffler and step-brothers, Douglas and Joseph Scheffler. He is further survived by his step-father Lee Sr. (Gayle) Carter; step brother, Cory (Heather) Marlega and step-sisters, Amy and Jessica Marlega. Shawn leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and many other extended family and friends. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished. Shawn, we will miss your warm heart, your goofy sense of humor and contagious smile.

I hadn't seen you since school, but when I heard the news, I couldn't help but remember when we met in 5th grade and you offered me part of your snack... You were so sweet and just a good soul. You had this smile that it seems like everyone else remembers about you, too.

Rest well, friend. I'm sure we'll meet again someday.
