Shayla Helen CONWAY

CONWAY, Shayla Helen 18, of Tucson passed away April 12, 2018 as a result of complications from an eating disorder. Shayla was born in Tucson, AZ on November 9, 1999, the daughter of Patrick and Alicia (Fahrendorf) Conway. She attended St. Elizabeth Ann Seton elementary school, Salpointe and Mt. View High Schools. Shayla is survived by her parents, her sister, Shelby; grandparents, Gene Conway; Christine and Martin Banasek and John and Nancy Fahrendorf Jr.; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Nancy Conway. Shayla loved spending time with her loved ones and was always ready for an outdoor adventure. Her favorite times were family vacations swimming, snorkeling or scuba diving in Mexico; summers spent at the lakes boating and waterskiing; cool weather getaways to her grandparents' homes in the mountains; trips to the sand dunes riding quads, golf carts and sand rails; and exploring and hiking state and national parks. Shayla will be remembered for her kind, compassionate and generous nature; bright and intelligent mind; sense of humor and wit; and love of family and friends. She was a dedicated sister, loyal friend, creative artist and photographer and an excellent student with dreams and ambitions. In her 18 years, Shayla has already made such a difference in this world. Her beautiful light will continue to shine as we honor her spirit and take comfort knowing she is at peace. Shayla was truly a gift to treasure. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Tucson with a reception immediately following in the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shayla's name to the National Eating Disorder Association or to Child Life at Denver Health Hospital.
