Shelby Bauernfeind Obituary
LEXINGTON - Shelby Davis Bauernfeind, 75, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
Shelby was born Dec. 23, 1937 in Davidson County to Olin Thales Davis Jr. and Catherine Wilson Davis. She retired from Orrell's Food Service.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are her husband, Stan Bauernfeind; sons, Troy Bauernfeind and Tony Bauernfeind and wife Tricia; daughter, Tracy Holshouser; grandchildren, Kristi Hopkins and husband Shane, Chad Holshouser, Logan Holshouser, Drake Bauernfeind; great-grandchild, Shelby Grace Hopkins; brothers, Thales Davis and wife Madeline and Willie Davis and wife Gayle; sisters, Bobby Tetter and husband Sammy, Connie Davis and Cathy Bailey and husband Tom; and sister-in-law, Shirley Schumacher.
Service &Visitation:A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday June 5, 2013 at Davidson Funeral Home-Lexington Chapel. The family will receive friends 1-2:45 p.m. prior to the service.
Memorials:In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials sent to: Special Operations Warrior Foundation, P O Box 89367 Tampa, FL 33689.

I worked with Shelby years ago. She was such a nice and funny lady. God bless you all. God just got a beautiful angel.

My Dearest 2nd family,
I cannot express my sadness at the loss of Shelby. It is hard to comprehend the loss of such a wonderful person who gave such meaning and joy to so many lives, including my own. Shelby was like a mother to me, particularly in those years when I was in need. I will be forever grateful to her, and to you Stan, Tracy and the boys... for allowing me the privilege to be your daughter/sister. It was evident that her children and grandchildren brought her so much joy. They will continue to be the living embodiment of the wonderful traits Shelby taught us all- love of family, dedication, hard work, perseverance and passion. Much, much love to you all.
