My first knowledge of Shelly was her role in the Shining. She was fantastic and she has such a delightfully sweet personality. I would love to have known her. My condolence goes out to her family and friends. So glad to know too that she was from Houston, TX which is my home town.

My young children adored Shelley's Bedtime Series - always referring to her as Shelley "Fall." We even named a kitten after one of the characters - Bootsie Barker! Thank you for the many years of entertainment - our family will never forget you. RIP Shelley's- you deserve it.

Shelly was one of a kind. I was lucky enough to work with her for a short time back in 1991. She did voice over for a Game called A Birds Life. She walked in the door, and sat down next to me. I was horrified! I was a fan of The Shinning, and I didn't know she would be the one working that day. She quickly "diffused" the situation, and just began talking to me like a normal person. Life is made up of moments, and this is one that I'll cherish. She was literally the nicest person I'd met in Hollywood. RIP Shelly. Unfortunately for us, God broke the mold.

I have been incredibly sad since hearing the news of Shelley passing. She was such a part of my childhood. I'm so glad she had a life partner that stayed by her side through thick and thin. Shelley Duvall was beautiful inside and out. She was a breath of fresh air in a stifling World. I have watched The Shining 53 times in the last 3 years and mainly because of Shelley. The essence of her gentleness and her goodness shined brightly in the character of Wendy Torrence. The way her character reacted to the slow burn of horror and suspense was Brilliant and I never tire of watching her in this film. She touched so many lives with her talents and I only wish I could have met her in person. May she rest in eternal peace in the Cosmos.

As a child, I always loved her in Faerie Tale Theater. Whimsical characters were always the best fit for her in acting. Especially with her unique physical appearance. RIP Shelley. Shelly was amazing friends with my grandmother in my family, I was able to hear amazing stories about MS Duvall and I'm sad that she left, but she left the world peacefully... I'm glad she isn't in pain and I'm glad her fan shared an amazing birthday memory with MS Duvall, May she rest peacefully now.

Shelly and her family lived across the street from us when we lived in Houston back in the 60’s. I will never forget how I found a little kitten and had it on my front porch. Shelly came over to see the kitten and she had the longest fingernails. She would scoop up the milk with her pinky fingernail and feed the little kitten. It’s the little things you remember. ❤ RIP Shelly!
