Sherrard L. Hayes, M.D. (Sherry), 76, passed away at home in Tampa on April 10, 2018. Born on July 31, 1941 in Ft. Pierce, FL to M. Kirby Hayes and Lucile Eubank Hayes, he was a proud fifth generation Floridian on both sides. He graduated in 1959 from Dan McCarty HS, attended the University of Florida and graduated from their medical school in 1966. After almost six years as an assistant professor at the University of Miami School of Medicine, he returned to Ft. Pierce where he established an Internal Medicine practice. Upon retirement in 2011 he and his wife Pam moved to Tampa, Fl to be nearer to family.
He is survived by his loving wife Pamela Boerner Hayes of 43 1/2 years, son Butch Hayes (Diane) of Austin, TX, daughter Karen Moran of Madison, TN, stepdaughters Dr. Kim Daxon (Pat) and Keri Munkwitz (Don) of Tampa, FL. Also surviving are his nine remarkable grandchildren Braden, Kirby, Katie, Sara, Claire, Michael, Grace, Lilly and Ella Kate.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Ft. Pierce, FL on June 16, 2018 from 4-6PM at the Pelican Yacht Club, 1120 Seaway Dr. At 4:30 there will be testimonials. As Sherry was a longtime Gator fan, casual orange and blue attire is requested but not mandatory.
In lieu of flowers donations made be made to LifePath Hospice, Inc., 12470 Telecom Dr., Suite 300W, Temple Terrace, FL 33637 or the charity of your choice.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Sherry, our 1959 Class President @ DMHS. He was a compassionate DR to myself and Al Test who treasured his friendship.

Sherry Hayes' passing is a great loss to us who grew up with him in our childhood. He was probably the finest man to graduate from Dan McCarty High School and one of the finest Doctors we had. God's Blessings to his Wife and Family.

Sherry was a good friend of my parents and a man I admired while growing up in Ft. Pierce, as well as my closest fellow Gator and cherish the memories I have of him. I will miss him greatly and send my thoughts and prayers to his family.
