Mrs. Sherri Rene Melton

Mrs. Sherri Rene Melton, age 60, of Newbern, Tennessee, died on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. Mrs. Melton was born on April 14, 1962, in Hickman, Kentucky to the late Alvey Glen Summers, Sr. and Linda Lou (Ams) Impson. She was a homemaker and a United States Navy Veteran. Survivors include her husband, Anthony "Tony" Melton of Newbern, Tennessee; they married on May 24, 1997, in Murray, Kentucky; two daughters, Monica Leigh Clement of Vidor, TX and Samantha Jo Ellis of Martin, TN; five brothers, Karl Summers of North Odgen, UT, Preston Summers of Centennial, CO, Gregory Todd Summers of Keithville, LA, Alvey Glen Summers, Jr. of Oak Ridge, TN, and Justin Summers of Knoxville, TN; and six cherished grandchildren, Matthew Blaine Burgins (21), Ethan Taylor Burgins (19), Jonathan Taylor Clement (19), Aden Dwayne Mayhew (16), Brandon Paul Clement (16), and Olivia Rene Haskins (13). She was an avid puzzle fan and loved camping throughout Tennessee with her husband and two puppies, Barkly and Sassy. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
