Sherrie Porter Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 24, 2025.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sherrie Anne Porter on March 11, 2025, after a courageous 11-year battle with ovarian cancer. Sherrie was born on February 21, 1948, and was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her.

Born Sherrie Anne DuLong, to Arthur and Eleanor DuLong in Seattle, WA, Sherrie demonstrated unwavering strength, kindness, and resilience throughout her life. Her battle with cancer was met with the same grace and determination that defined her. She was a source of love and support for her family, offering warmth and encouragement even through the toughest of times. As a child she attended St. Luke's Catholic School, and later graduated from Shoreline High School in 1966. She then went on to a 44 year long career as a hairdresser, building many lifelong friendships with many clients. In 1989, Sherrie moved to Snohomish, where she and her husband would raise their family.

Sherrie is survived by her husband of 45 years, Randy Porter, and their three children: Brandon (Jamie) Porter, Nick Porter, and Keri (Steve) Myers. She was the proud grandmother of Taryn and Tori Porter, Blake, Conner, and Mason Myers, as well as grandpups Ben, Roxy, Storm and Dash. She is preceded in death by her father Arthur DuLong, her mother Eleanor DuLong, her grandson Carter Myers, and many other loved ones.

Sherrie was known for her unique sense of humor, nurturing spirit, her laughter that could light up a room, and her ability to always make others feel special and part of the family. She enjoyed RV adventures outdoors, boating and water sports, sitting outside by her garden, spending time with loved ones, and never turned down an opportunity to go shopping! She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and everyone who felt the warmth of her love.

Services will be held March 27th at St. Michael Catholic Church in Snohomish, WA. Rosary at 10:30am, followed by funeral services at 11:00am.

The family would also like to give a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Jason Lukas and his incredible team at Fred Hutch Issaquah. We would also like to thank the team at Evergreen Hospice, specifically nurse Kyrie, who's kindness, knowledge and spirit were truly a gift from god.

Donations can be made in Sherrie's honor to Fred Hutch Cancer Research Center Issaquah.

May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she so graciously gave during her lifetime.

I first met Sherrie in 7th grade at Cordell Jr. High School. We went steady for a while but remained friends for 30 years! She was a wonderful person, so full of life. I have not seen her for many, many years, but I remember her very fondly. My condolences' to family and friends. Gordon Beatte

I couldn't imagine a better mother in-law and grandmother to our boys. You treated me as if I were one of your kids from the day I met you, and constantly showed me unwavering love and support. I'll miss our random singing at the dinner table, and you yelling "SWEET JESUS" when ever you were excited. You were one of a kind, and I'm forever grateful for you and what you brought into my life.

Sherrie, you were such a light to all those around you. I am so happy you were part of my life in my younger years and gave me so much laughter. You found joy in everything and could make anyone burst out into uncontrollable laughter. Rest
Easy. Love you Keri and Fam!
