Sherry passed away at age 63 on Tuesday, June the 28, 2016 at her home in Martinez, California, after bravely battling a long-time heart condition. She was surrounded by what she loved the most: her family, her ranch, and her dogs and horses.
Sherry was a nurse who for many years helped her physician husband Fred run a busy family practice in Concord. Sherry was known for her great humor and fun and for her genuine love and care for their patients. Sherry was also a successful entrepreneur who started and ran an industrial medicine company, also in Concord, that served nationwide clientele of large companies. Sherry was also an avid A's fan. Her passion was gourmet cooking and entertaining, and her food and her parties on their ranch are legendary. Sherry was loved by all those who knew her. She touched so many lives. She was funny, kind, and generous, and no matter what adversity you might be going through, she always made you feel as if you were going to be okay. It was a special gift she gave to all of us. Sherry's greatest love was her husband and family, which she served tirelessly. The loss of her is immeasurable to her family and friends, and our hearts are broken.
Sherry is survived by her husband of 35 years, Dr. Fred Von Stieff; her children James Angel, Fred Von Stieff, Jr., and Dr. Kristina Carpenter; son-in-law Rick Carpenter; soon to be daughter-in-law Stacy Leonis; her mother and stepfather, Peggy and John Ratliff; brothers Michael and Richard Wolf; sisters-in-law Evenie and Tracy Wolf; sister Pamela Didier; grandchildren Jack, Matthew, Riley, Savannah, Johnny, Danni, Dylan and Jayce and nieces and nephews Nat, Brent, Jennifer, Tommy, and Claire. We miss her greatly.
