Sherwood "Woody" Peterson was welcomed home to be with the Lord on July 22, 2009 after a long struggle with health issues. Woody was born March 22, 1936 and grew up and worked all his life in Southern California. After serving in the Navy for 8 years he worked as a upholster and then started a manufacturing business, designing and creating furniture for the home and office. His success in business can be directly attributed to his work ethic and his natural ability. His attention to detail was Legendary and he took pride in the fact that he always left his customers satisfied. Woody had a passion for life and enjoyed his family. More than anything he was a wonderful, caring, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He had a spark of humor about him and will be sadly missed. His memory will live on through his family and friends who loved him so dearly and always will remember him for his loving spirit. Woody is survived by his loving wife, Leila Peterson of Apple Valley, his son, Chris and his wife Deanna of Apple Valley, daughters, Robin and her husband, Darren of Atascadero, CA, Michele and her husband, Keith of Buena Park, CA, granddaughters, Lindsay, Lauren, Lacey, and Logan of Apple Valley, grandsons, Steven and Daniel of Buena Park, granddaughter, Lauren of Buena Park, grandsons, Brandon and Travis of Atascadero, CA, great granddaughter, Mia of Buena Park as well as special friends and family. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 28th from 9-10 AM followed by services beginning at 10:00 AM at Sunset Hills Memorial Chapel, 24000 Waalew Road, Apple Valley. Interment will be at 1:30 P.M. at Riverside National Cemetry, 22495 Van Buren, Riverside, California staging areat #6. Sunset Hills Memorial Park and Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
