Shirley S. Brown, age 85 of Harrisonville, passed away at home on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, surrounded by her daughters.

Shirley was born on March 25, 1937 to Daniel and Mary (Moore) Snyder in Bridgeton, NJ. She was predeceased by her parents, her brother, Daniel R. Snyder, Sr., and her husband of 67 years, Richard.

Shirley was a 1954 graduate of Woodstown High School and worked for the Chevrolet dealership in Swedesboro. She was a homemaker and a volunteer with the Parents as Partners program at So. Harrison Twp. Elementary School for 4 years and volunteered in the library. She was a Band Booster with the Kingsway Regional High School marching band from 1972 to 1985. Shirley was a key member of the Harrisonville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for over 40 years. In 1979 she worked for Kingsway Regional High School in the cafeteria until 2005, from where she retired with 26 years of service.

She spent her remaining years enjoying her family, planting her flowers, and feeding her birds and squirrels. Shirley and her late husband, Richard, were often seen sitting in their booth at Point 40 Diner.

Shirley is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Mary Ard & Doug; her daughter, Peggy Hackett; her daughter & son-in-law, JoAnn Hall and Mark; her daughter & son-in-law, Robin Jaramillo & Rich; her grandchildren, Steven Hackett, Joannie Hall, Trevor Ard, Daniel Hall, Scott Hackett, Samantha Homa, Ryan Ard, Sydney Jaramillo, and Richard Jaramillo; and her great-grandchildren, Adelaide Hackett, Kylie Chesser, Dylan Chesser, Taegen Homa, Evan Ard, Avery Ard, Timber Homa, Clifton Hall, and Jack Hall.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, March 6th in the H.T. Layton Funeral Home, 102 S. Main St., Woodstown, where friends are invited to visit from 10 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow the funeral in Olivet Cemetery, Pittsgrove.
