Shirley Davison Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 4, 2018.

Shirley Maxine Davison passed away peacefully with Family by her side on Saturday August 4. Shirley was born in Glendale Arizona to Harry and Addie Ressel on February 15, 1931. Though she was an only child, she had a very close relationship with her cousin, Bonnie Jean, who was like a sister to her. When she was eleven, the family moved to Long Beach California. Shirley attended Poly High School in Long Beach where she joined Yacca Club at 14. Yacca, later Beta Rho Sorority, held rummage sales and annual Fashion Shows mainly in support of the Westside Opportunity Workshop and the Group Home for Developmentally Disabled Adults where Shirley's son, Ricky resided. She was still a member until her death. The families of Beta Rho have created life-long friendships.

In 1950 Shirley met the love of her life, Bob, and they were married in November. In 1957 Bob was transferred to Santa Monica and they moved to Culver City. They had three Children, Kathy, Ricky and Bonnie. Shirley worked for Culver City Schools for 22 years. They loved bowling, golfing, camping and vacationing with amazing friends. She also played Bunco with her golf friends for 20 some years. She loved reading, knitting, sewing, painting, cards and also playing solitaire on her iPad.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, in 2014. She is survived by her Children, Kathy Poyer, Ricky Davison, Bonnie Hasty (Robert). Grandchildren Robert Poyer, Michelle Jackson (Beau), Ryan Hasty (Ashley) and Gavin Hasty. Great Grandchildren Addison and Haley Jackson and Lachlan and Liam Hasty. ??
