So sorry Matthew and Peter and family to hear of your mother's passing. I've been out of touch and just learned of it now as I did an internet search to try to get connected with you. Peace to you all. I hope to connect with you more directly soon through a phone call.

Dear Extended Cousins
So very sorry to have heard the news. Sincere condolences from the Golsse family. Shirley was an amazing and prominent figure. Impossible to think about Ottawa or Lake of Bays visits without thinking about how welcome she made one feel. Thinking of you all.

Dear Hadwen boys,
I am so sorry to hear about the death of your mum. She was a wonderful woman. A life of memories of your mum and dad at countless gatherings and events over the years - the men stuffing themselves into their old Trinity blazers until it was no longer possible - and such happy memories of popping by the cottage for the many summers I was working at camp. Always feeling welcomed - and even when I'm sure my 18-year old self was less than remotely interesting, your mum always seemed to take an interest. I will hold all those memories and many others very dear. Lots of love, Sarah

Dear Matthew and extended family,
Our most sincere condolences on the death of your beloved mother and grandmother. Shirley was a great woman and an essential party of the Hadwen team which crossed the globe representing Canada in so many places with such distinction. We remember several delicious meals served at her house with John carving the roast of lamb.
We regret we will not be able to attend her memorial service tomorrow but want you to know that our thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time.
